Daily Exercise

how soon do you seen any improvements from running? Provided you run 3-5 times a week?

Yesterday
-Weight and core workout.

-2 mile hike down the hill
(window shopping at the local boutiques and 2 glasses of wine  )
-2 mile hike back up the hill to go home.

Can anybody suggest a type of exercise to do when there are no gyms available for miles (other than running/jogging and cycling)? Preferably also something that can be done inside a small apartment because it's winter half the year and it's not much fun running (more like falling and sliding everywhere) in snow and sheets of ice from freezing rain.

I'd like to know, too.

I played soccer for an hour and 15 minutes.

I hate gyms and I don't have too much time with school and everything else but I try to walk on the treadmill at a high incline at like 3.8ish mph for 30 min as many times a week as possible. that's the best I can do right now. Better than nothing.:ninja:

I did an hour pilates tonight. I've been doing the class 3 times a week for the past month and am really feeling like I'm getting the hang of it

However, tonight the regular teacher came back and it turned out that the one for the last 4 weeks was a substitute. As it's a beginner's class everyone was new to him. He was really good and corrected me and other people throughout the class.

At the end of the class he made a point of telling us that some people will struggle at first and not to be put off by how well some other people are doing...and looked directly at me and nodded! I was really upset as I know I'm really concentrating and make sure my technique is as good as possible, and although I'm no teacher, looking around the class I see that many people cheat when he's not looking and give up when things get too hard.
I'm trying not to be deterred and I want to go next week and prove him wrong, but I wondered if I really am that bad?

sorry to rant

Well, I ran up and down two flights of stairs 6 times in a pair of 4 inch heels, and I'm about to go out for a very long walk.

gosh i always feel so lazy compared to other people's workout routines...i just walk around school all day, play and run around with my puppy when i get home, and dance to my ipod right before i shower.

^ me too i feel so lazy when i read this thread

but i need to get back into shape. hopefully by xmas *mistletoe!* itll be an present to myself

BUT damn i so do not want to join a gym! its damn expensive! so right now im asking around to see if people can get me a good deal. my sister's boyfriend only pays like $12 a month for the gym. my sis & i talked to him about it but he's such a bastard, i dont think he is gonna help me out because he doesnt seem to be trying to help his own girlfriend..that bastardo. anyways i dont want to spend hundreds a year for gym. im not that fond of the gym to begin with so i dont want to spend out the ying yang for it.

i really want to go jogging in the park but my sister wont let me because she is scared something bad will happen to me. everyone is in school except me so i have no one to go working out with..plus my friends dont even care about working out!

im thinking getting a jump rope, maybe taebo or some kind of hip hop dance dvds

i want to do yoga or pilates so bad...but right now its just too expensive :ninja: i rather spend all my money on going out and havin fun on the weekends
