I'm tired

I usually go for two hours at a time and I get really tired after going for a few days in a row. I have been trying to do this regularly but well I just get so sore and tired. Any of you guys think 2 hrs is too much?

Yes Shoegal..most experts recommend one intense 60-90 minute session 3-5 times a week.More than that and the risk of injury far outweighs any potential benefit.
Give yourself a little break...your body needs time to heal and repair after exercise.

You cannot rush the results if you are trying to bring about a change in your body, and if you are just trying to maintain the body you already have, then you can do so with much less.:flower:

The days I have lectures, I'll be hitting the weights at the gym on campus (that is, unless i'm running on only two-three hours of sleep). This usually works out to be three times a week, one hour per session.

I for one, have always been a victim of the "asian twig boy" syndrome; before I began working out, I was 5'9 and at a mere 120 lbs. So after some intensive weight training during high school (five times a week at two hours per session) and into university, going on supplements such as creatine and whey, I have finally reached a plateau of 150 lbs! Though I still would like to add a pound or two more of muscle around the bicep and chest area :) no more than that, because I still have to be able to fit into my Dior homme mind you!

Truth be told, I really do have to work on the cardio... I haven't done cardio in years! and now when I do anything like running, I am so out of shape.

-Cheers

^^ good job! Yesterday I did a 5k race in the rainy and chilly weather:doh: It was my first race and I placed #17 and the third woman:woot:

That's terrific! Cold weather runs are tough, but you are tougher!

I ran 15 miles over three days this weekend. Then yesterday I was too tired to force myself to the gym.

I've decided I need to work on my core strength. Does anyone know any good exercises for obliques that don't involve lying on your side? That side crunch always gives me a stitch in my side.

is it just as effective running on the treadmill as it is to go 'real' running?

Yes stix.Running on a treadmill is a bit easier on the joints though, because there's more shock absorbency in the surface than on the road.

It's very real running though---same body, same motions, you're just not going anywhere!

I second that. The only difference I've noticed is that I am a little faster outside (maybe because my stride is more conservative on a treadmill for fear of falling off).

yeah another one of the differences between running on a treadmill and "the real thing" is obviously you have to keep up with the treadmill and "real" running you have to make yourself go...
