Daily Exercise

Today: 30 minutes of riding my bike up and down steep hills...on my way to the gym.

15 minutes of yoga - had to stop, was about to pass out

still on holiday :woot:

weight-trained 30 minutes. ran 5 miles with a running buddy  my legs are now killing me

1 hour of kickboxing (with weighted gloves) today and 45 minutes of weights on Saturday. I was bad on Sunday... I basically over-ate, didn't exercise and had a couple glasses of red wine. <sigh>. That will kill any sort of motivation right there!

last night i went to the gym, it was insanely HOT! they don't put the air conditioning on, which is weird. i hope they do soon, i was dying.

anyways, i ran 1 mile and did 4 different arm exercises, a hip exercise and a series of sit-ups.

i was drenched in sweat so i just left. it's unbearable!

I just poweryoga'ed my butt off. I insist on riding my bike to the gym...4km up and down mean steep hills

Question for you all. Anyone have any good exercises for getting tones upper thighs? Cardio doesn't do it for me. I mean I work out a ton and you'd never know it. And I don't like to do too many squats/lunges cuz they hurt my knees. So I need tips!

Have you seen a doctor regarding knee?
Diagnosis?
This is quite important, as depending on complaint, depends which routine is more appropriate.

Have you tried different versions of squats? Wall squats, sissy squats, chair squats...etc..etc. Maybe limit range of motion?
Do you wear knee supports?
When you say..."I mean I work out a ton and you'd never know it." Could you elaborate please?
Have you had your squat technique checked out?
When you say..."Cardio doesn't do it for me." Have you tried experimenting with different routines?

Apparently some Yoga exercises maybe beneficial for you.
Leg extensions, i find to be real hitters. Aswell as leg curls.
Bent leg deadlifts.
Of course, depending on knee complaint, exercises can actually strengthen this area, to an extent.
Swimming takes weight off joints , of course, yet still you get benefits.
Cycling?

55 minutes on the elliptical
Hamstring raises
Oblique side bends w/ 5 lb weight
Crunches with 15 lb resistance
And then I usually end with some sort of arm-muscle building machine!

Hey!

I have that problem too! But, for me, I also have a problem with my inner knees - they have these awful fat pads that I can't seem to get rid of!! If you find something that works, can you let me know?

I couldn't sleep this morning and ended up doing an hour-long yoga work out with a powerball. This evening, I did 50 minutes of cardio.

Everyone is such an inspiration! Today, for me, it was:
20 minutes cardio (rather intense)
5 minutes abs (I got tired, it should have been 20)
30 minute walk (up and down the many hilly streets we have here)

Would have liked to do more, but baby didn't want a nap today and I'm coming close to a deadline with work. :(

Hello dear Chris!

I just saw this - thanks for saying hi! I was starting to feel like I wasn't talking to anyone!!

:)

I reckon best exercise for lower back, without any weights, are "Good mornings".
Supermans.
Back hyper extensions.

Lower back can be a real benefit strengthened up. I used to suffer quite alot with pain there. This is not a medical cure, this worked for me, but extreme care should be taken ........I did straight legged dead lift , with weights, every day for a week. By the end of the week, i could hardly budge a kilo. Gave it five days, approx', rest, then hit dead lifts, gained 20 kilos on a lift! Plus never had any back trouble again.
:woot:

You have more manners than i have.....:innocent: I just gatecrashed....:D
Great to see you post here. :flower:

Be interested in any study on this. Ive read several reports that say different things concerning this subject.

Managed to finish my routine this week.

Just awesome work everyone!!
You are all, my inspiration. :magic:
