Daily Exercise

Have you seen a doctor regarding knee?
Diagnosis?
This is quite important, as depending on complaint, depends which routine is more appropriate.

no I didn't think I needed to. I hear that complaint a lot so I thought it was normal.

Have you tried different versions of squats? Wall squats, sissy squats, chair squats...etc..etc. Maybe limit range of motion?

I've tried a few versions

Do you wear knee supports?

No but I didn't think about that either. Maybe I could try those.

When you say..."I mean I work out a ton and you'd never know it." Could you elaborate please?

I mean I work out a lot, for years, but I don't have the type of thighs you usually see on athletes...nice and toned.

When you say..."Cardio doesn't do it for me." Have you tried experimenting with different routines?

Yeah I usually do a variety of exercises to keep it fun.

Thanks for your extensive reply. :flower:

today, i played 2 hours of tennis (and i won!:D). it felt so good because my left ankle is not bothering me anymore and i hit a lot of one handed backhand volleys! :woot:

Thanks for your answer, I mean a lot of water ..I read I dont know where that you can get cramb if you drink too much water while your are doing exercises...is that true?

I dont know, bt everything that is excess is bad.
Why u need to drink a lot of water?
Drink what u need to!

Hey!

I just had a quick question...I have a small stepper at home, the really small version that you can just put in a corner. Anyway, I usually do about 30 minutes everyday, but everytime my thighs feel very "tight", so much so that it almost hurts to stretch them out. Is that normal? I used to dance a lot, but haven't for a couple of years now, but I had never felt this before. Maybe my machine is not very good?

Thanks for your help! And I've got to say, it is really impressive coming into this thread... You guys are so great! And so fit!

I dont have much knowledge in that, bt maybe u are not doing correctly the exercise with the stepper, or maybe u dont warm up correctly before the exercise.

There´s nothing wrong with the machine I think, is only a simple stepper.

Jem- maybe do more stretches before and after using it? otherwise i don't really know either...

ran 5 miles this morning with a couple running buddies. wish it wasn't so darned busy during the week though.

Do you guys find that after a few days off from exercising, it's SO hard to get back on track?
I started working out almost daily last month and got this momentum going, but I skipped three days because I was really busy and now I don't feel like working out again... haha, it's horrible. The lazier I am, the even lazier I get.

great work everyone, wow!

i skipped the weekend... i had a pretty decadent weekend with lots of chocolate and wine, gotta get back into my routine tonight!

Reporting in: ^_^

Saturday: 1 hour of yoga/powerball, 20 minutes cardio, 10 minutes abs
Sunday: 40 minutes weights, 10 minutes lunges/squats

I will go on holiday in August and want to have a 6pack by then (I've got kind of a 4 pack at the moment, it's OK, but I can do better). So, I'm thinking of doing a fitness challenge where I take my diet seriously (because now, I don't) and try and get 2 sessions, one specifically for abs, the other cardio or weights, a day. Also thinking of giving up refined flour and sugar for this time. Anyone want to join me?

Christina, re: knee problems: are you making sure that you are not hyper-extending your knees when you do things like lunges, squats, etc? Because if you don't keep your knees directly above your ankles, you will have some problems.
