Daily Exercise

luisa: It was HOT! The room gets heated to about 40 degrees celsius. I usually do stuff like hatha yoga (for stretching out all the knots in my body 'cos I lift weights and do cardio pretty regularly) and power yoga (for training strength). Hot yoga is pretty much like power yoga in a hot room. Felt very revived and detoxed after the session 'cos of the buckets I sweated after!

Jenna-maria: I know what you mean! Haha, I've been doing the LM programmes for quite long now, and most of the instructors are friends - pretty embarrassing when they call out my name in the middle of class though! I am loving the new release for Jam (48). For combat, I like the later releases (>25) as the intensity is so much higher!

Sunday 25 Jan - Chest, back, abs - totally flat now.

And I agree with Meg - form cannot be compromised!! I learnt this the hard way by damaging my right shoulder's rotater cuff, that's why I haven't been training shoulders for a week.

Yesterday - 35 minutes of Yoga + short walk
Today - skipping and am going dancing if that counts :D
From 1st Feb I am joining Pilates, ball and aerobics class X 3 times a week. Yay!

Today I decided to do the exercices I found in an old book that my grandma had.
So I did arm, abs, butt and leg work, and a bit of pilates, making me exercice for an hour.
And I usally do hoola hoop in front of the tv when I don't have anything to do ^^

CRASH - last 200 meters of Saturday ride. Wet road. Bike came out from under me during a right turn. Road rash and black & purple bruises right hip and right arm and right hand. Upper back took impact also right side. Painful breathing deep. Scratches on helmet suggest significant impact right side although helmet not fractured. This crash happened while I was turning off of a major five-lane highway. Post crash pain was bad enough to force me to raid my stash of Vicodin.

Sorry to hear this.:flower:
Will you be purchasing new skid lid?

Bench dips are great for tri-ceps.
Although, if performing weighted bench dips don't trust two complete nutters i had as spotters, who, after placing "X" olympic plates on your lap, decide a metal lined concrete support block should be added, despite your protests, during set.
If your ever in this posistion, that tearing sound is not your T shirt, as you may at first think.

monday 26/01/09

30 minute walk + a day of lawn bowls

is it safe to burn a thousand calories a day?
One walk in the morning and one at night?

My roommate wants to do it and i'm wondering if that's hard on the heart or not?

US27: Hope you're okay!!

Carrme: It should be okay, but she will have to consume more protein and carbs to prevent muscle wastage (the body burning muscle in conjunction with fat).

Yowchh, I hope you're okay US27
Carrme, It should be fine with the appropriate diet and preparation.
Today I...
10 mile run
10 minutes calisthenics
10 minutes ab workout

today: only 1 hour elliptical and some stretching.

To those who work out often: do you also sometimes feel like if you do not rest enough (in my case only one day the week), your body looks LESS toned than if you would rest a little bit more?
I know that it also depends on how fit you are and how you change your workout routine from day to day.
i do "use" my legs in everyworkout, even when i do cardio only.
I don't know, maybe it's just me...

3 times a weak i do the crosstrainer 20 min and then situps and stretching, im proud doing that much becuse im a laaaazy person. I prefer watching tv and eating ben&jerrys. haha.

luisa: I get what you mean. This is due to the fact that muscles repair themselves when you rest. When you workout (e.g. lift weights), your muscle fibres tear up and get 'stimulated'. Your muscles only 'grow' and repair themselves when you rest. Just remember to allow your body to recuperate and repair itself (and to prevent overtraining/muscle wastage). A good gauge is working a certain part no more than 3 times a week.

I was supposed to run 5 miles today
but i actually just walked 2.5
and did a 10 minute ab workout :(
