When I went to the store I expected $1000 and that I would maybe buy on sale. That experience ruined daniel’s burberry for me (at no fault of his own)^ this pants should be max $850…
Its interesting topic and worthy of discussion because race or nationality is often mentioned in connection to taste or hierarchy importance / validation in fashion by insiders with in companies and online.“Somehow a must”? If you’re bored just say that. It was an observation, I included it bc I saw it, not bc I thought it was necessary, “a must” or it “somehow” indicates anything, no need to get your boxers in a bunch over it. If anything, I was thinking thank goodness these tourists are keeping the anchor brand of British fashion in business.
And as a matter of fact, the fact YOU “somehow” equates race with social hierarchy (which was in no way suggested in my post) tells me that YOU make these associations in your head, which speaks to YOUR prejudice. Projection at its very best.
Their Rocking Horse Tote in medium and large sizewtf is this….

To me, they are both selling the idea of intellectual elitism where their audiences are not intellectuals but elitists.I'm less offended by Jonathan Anderson's stuff than Daniel Lee's. The most overrated designer on tfs imo, worst of the "intellectual" school hands down
You know how I’ve always hated the « intellectuals » term. Beyond the fact that I don’t consider Daniel and all the Phoebe school that way, I’m actually curious…How are called the other ones… »The dumbs »? And if so, who are the designers considered « dumbs »?I'm less offended by Jonathan Anderson's stuff than Daniel Lee's. A key to a Chastity Belt perhaps?
Marc Jacobs, I can't remember from when/where/ which interview but he said he likes to dumb things down. And Olivier Rizzo describes the Prada brand as 'purposely dumb' in a really really old interviewYou know how I’ve always hated the « intellectuals » term.
