Daria Werbowy

Daria refused to do VS? Jesus, how amazing is this woman? :woot:
Well... someone said supermodelism is subjective or something similar, and I agree. If we see it from an objective point of view, the one who earns the most is the best model, so she is the most "super". Sadly, commercial pays a lot. So Adriana Lima would be closer to be a supermodel than Raquel Zimmermann, for example, which in my opinion is a big NO, NO, NO.
I really dont know how to describe my point of view about this, but I think Daria surely is a supermodel in my book.
Sorry if I didnt make any sense, its the language barrier .

^Yay new Vp cover for Daria!!! Kinda wish it was more exciting but hopefully the inside edit will be fierce!

wow, great cover! It looks like an US Vogue cover from the 80s;)) very funny! But I like it a lot!
As for supremodels, to me a supermodel is a model who does only high fashion and appears on Vogue covers, editorials and in the big shows and campaigns! And of course Daria IS a supermodel! I wish to see her in VS catalogs, which will mean more pictures in my collection, but refusing VS does not make her a smaller model than Lima or anybody else...and about the comparisson between Lima and Zimmermann...i think Raquel is 100 times richer than Lima and does all the commercial stuff plus the High fashion at the same time, which makes her one of the most super supermodels in the last 5-10 years! there are models that become super popular(for one or another reason), but that does not make the rest of them less super or less rich! Although i never cared how much money they earn. All models earn a lot of money, no matter if you see them, if they are famous or not. And once you make the Vogue cover...you are already a supermodel!!(I am not including actresses and celebrities, who can never be supermodels)

I personally would disagree that Adriana Lima earns or has earned less than Raquel, it just isn't realistic.
All models over the last 50 years who are universally considered supermodels, have done some commercial work as well as high fashion, some even only commercial work. I don't know of any actual supermodels who have only exclusively done high fashion modelling....well, until Daria hahaha

^thanks for the info :flower:

I&V shot her for the August issue of VP:

ADN de la mode
Ph: I&V
Realisation: Emmanuelle Alt, Joe McKenna and Carine Roitlfed
Models: Lily D., Iris, Eniko, Dree Hemingway, Anna J., Daria, Edita, Isabeli Fontana, Sessilee Lopez, Lara Stone, Raquel Z., Anja Rubik, Garrett Neff, Natasha Poly, Shalom Harlow, and some others. It's pretty huge (64 pages) but really nice if you ask me. It's a sort of retrospective(?) of some designers' iconic look.

:woot:

That cover is WOW!!! Daria + Burberry + 80s look = WOW!!!! I buy it right away (when that issu will be available)

I am so excited to get my hands on this issue just to see the editorials! :buzz: I'm not quite impress by the cover though, I'm not feeling it. It looks as if Daria is looking pass me especially since it's a close up ): But yay, for new work!

I hope she never does either of those, VS or SI, because she is too down-to-earth (even on runway, and in VS you have to smile and make these cheesy winks and UGH!) when she wipes off her makeup and takes off the couture and relaxes in her ripped jeans and boots and flannels, pull-over hoodies and a leather jacket...She is the COOLEST laid-back model. Oh how I would looove to meet her!!

:ninja:DREAM DREAM DREAM:ninja:

Once again... Angela Lindvall did all of this and she still a Down-to-earth model. And she still living in a low profile life. She is not the girt that paparazzi likes (as Gisele or Adriana Lima and other VS girls).

She's a complete model, she could do it all without being cheesy or too underground. That's what I want from Daria, being Complete, because she's talented enough to be that kind of model.

Daria's Lancome contract has given her lots of visibility. And, if we want her to have a long life in modeling industry, she has to be versatile and having visibilities.

HF models past and are quickly replaced (look at Natalia Semanova... a great one, but she's not in the buissness anymore, and she's younger than Lindvall). The girls who do just commercials work are boring (Adriana Lima is the best exemple, only Maybeline, SI and VS)

I love the new Vogue Paris cover!:woot::heart: Can't wait to see the ed!

I adore the Vogue Paris cover. She is truly elegance personified. Stunning.

Has Daria ever worked with her doppelganger Jessica Miller? I feel like I've never seen a shot of them together. Pity since they're both I&V favorites and they've both got such incredible presence.

I never noticed they look alike.
I know they have worked appeared both in the Testino swimsuit ed and a V ed by I&V, but as far as I know they never shared a shot together.

i definitely like the cover: sober, simple, elegant, maybe more british than french...

and for the supermodel issue, i think we have to be objective and not to overlap personal tastes and wishes with nowadays reality. daria is at the top of what a high fashion model can be without going commercial. i strongly doubt that such a status can be called supermodelism if we compare that to what supermodels used to be, unless we are rather unrealistic. or unless we change the meaning of the word and we content ourselves to call a topmodel supermodel. and also in this case supermodelism requires an existential-professional attitude that doesn't belong to daria. fortunately.
