Dario Vitale - Designer

I imagine his career is over.

He put billion dollar super brand Versace into uncertainty. He will certainly end a smaller brand.

Anyway. Dario should’ve respected Gianni Versace.
Versace and Prada put the brand into uncertainty if we’re being honest here.

Sure the debut was an odd one, but Versace was already in the red. Yeah he could have respected Gianni, but wouldn’t we have just been like “wow… another classics redux?”. He was never going to succeed. He took an opportunity and saw what he could do. There was a chance for them to just stick with it but they didn’t.

Don’t want to be fully sympathetic, he just was never going to be in the clear. I certainly had my opinions and thoughts. And what he presented was truly very now, to the point where it was too of the now in an “inner circle” kind of way so to see him branch out would have been a difficult ride. But with what was already going on above him, I don’t think the suits honestly cared.

Versace will never be successful again until Gianni Versace is centered and respected. It’s starting to become a big problem for me.

I’m a little salty because you guys told me Dario was great and I co-signed him for that and now he’s the shortest tenure I can really remember.

Don’t forget about Queen Lindsay at Ungaro. Her fabulousness was too much for them to handle.

Fact is, Vitale made an impact with his single collection at Versace. It's been a while since folks talked about actual clothes from their show, and his looked both rather reminiscent of Gianni's work in the '80s and quite relevant bcs of how conclusively it all went against the 'quiet luxury' plague in contemporary dressing. Not sure if Prada ditched him or if he left on his own, but making him stay and capitalizing on the hype would've been smarter. This way, it looks like the Prada Group capriciously pushed away yet another designer - their former employee at that - only to offer narrow Miu Miu vests that are strikingly similar to the ones Vitale presented.. not a good look.

Stunning campaign! I was never a Dario hater and this campaign is proof that he just needs a little more time to grow into his position. Now we’re going to be left with Mullier’s highly faux intellectual, single model, white backdrop ad campaigns…

In all seriousness.. I’m actually worried for Versace under Prada leadership. I’ve been a Prada customer for awhile (no longer) and I can attest to the fact that the services provided, vision & mission etc, is being ran into the ground. AI ad campaigns, downgrade in quality, price hikes, greed has turned me off from the conglomerate

I know this isn’t relevant to Versace directly, but I pre-ordered runway pieces (FW22) from both Miu Miu & Prada back in 2022. When I received them, the quality was absolutely atrocious! The feathers were falling apart, the embroidery was loose, fabrics were switched to inferior material for production etc… I was genuinely shocked. I retuned it (without getting a full refund)

If Versace under the Prada group is going to be managed similarly, I fear the quality will also fall. It doesn’t matter if Mullier’s Alaia had better fabrics. The CD doesn’t control the QC, production etc, and with their recent controversy with subcontractors, I hope Versace is taken care of PROPERLY.

You might like him or not but you gotta respect that boy milked this Versace-one-season-stunt like there is no tomorrow.

Kinda c*nty and I like it ! Showed some character, we will see where will it takes him but from what I've heard he will be appointed within next year somewhere decent...

Don’t worry about that… quality at Versace couldn’t be worse than it is now!!!!
