I'm really trying to find the perfet pair! But they are always eather the wrong clours, not high waist or too short or too expensive :( I need them! On Monday I'm going denim shorts hunting. Again.

i like colored denim shorts. no i dont like them. i LOVE them. i have some teal ones that i want to wear every day but then people would probably think im homeless they'd get so tattered. i also tried to cut up some jeans of mine to make them jean shorts but then they ended up looking hoochy... so i just bought some high waisted ones.

strawberry you look fantastic in them...you've styled them well :flower:
i forgot to mention that the big trend this past summer here in australia were denim cutoffs that were about the length of yours...at the knee or just above, and importantly, they were cuffed or rolled up...not those really short ones that barely cover one's bum, i dont think those are a trend, they are just a staple in really hot climates. :p

Over the weekend, I saw a few more trouser-like denim shorts. I don't mind the jean-like shorts, but I've especially become drawn to cuffed trouser-like shorts, especially cuffed trouser-like short-shorts. These specific kinds of shorts (let alone denim ones) offer a classy touch even if one isn't trying to look classy.

Since we're talking denim, it's okay to readily assume your average blue denim. However, one can still enjoy denim in other colors. The more common colors of denim bottoms are black, white, and (tan, khaki, beige, colors in this color family). Cuffed trouser short-shorts would also be nice in khaki or tan. With the right kind of top, one can look semi-formal. Footwear can range from ankle boots to pumps to sandals (avoid traditional flip-flops if trying to look semi-formal).

I'm still digging the cuffed trouser-like short-shorts this season.

Thank you! ^_^

Actually these ones are made from really thin denim so if I wanted to, I could just keep cuffing them until they were short shorts haha.

I love this look from Alexander Wang;

i like the look of the alexander wang shorts, but you must have thin legs to wear it, like pins.
if you have any chubby around the thighs or knees this will looks terrible.

I don't think you have to have stick legs, you just have to rock them differently. Instead of cuffing the end like the picture, you wear them a bit slimmer to the leg and just have them ripped above the knee.

I love when denim shorts are longer and looser, they flatters anybody.

lily donaldson is what i think of when i look for a pair! unfortunately lily donaldson is not what i see when i try them on. is anyone on here between 5ft 2- 5ft 5 with longer legs than torso? odd request but i've tried so many pairs of shorts and none seem to come to the right point. they're either too baggy or too tight. lily's are perfect!!

i think it's good that you have longer legs than torso!
that would be like nicole richie.

yeah it's good! plus my bottom half is a lot slimmer. i'm sure it could pull of the whole short denims thing but it's finding THE pair...such a perfectionist, haha.
