Dermalogica

I didnt like the Clearing Booster myself. I agree with Deborah, too runny, it felt like pressing water into the skin, and I think it irritated my skin for a second when I applied it, so I washed it off.

Try Gentle Soothing Booster. It helps with acne or very oily skin too.

I used Dermalogica too at the school I graduated from as an aesthetician. Now I hope to get my CIDESCO diploma, since it is required in Zürich where I will be working.

My favorite products are the PreCleanse, I actually love the Special Cleansing Gel too, the Daily Microfoliant is nice, and the Skin Prep Scrub, but I never liked the feeling of any of the moisturizers on my face. I have a ton of those samples of Super Rich Repair. Have you used that CaitlinC?

I have used this in the past. I liked my Clarins Skin Beauty Reperative Serum better for diminishing redness.

I also tried the mask that is orange, it did nothing for my skin. The Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque.

Oh well. I have enough products.

Super Rich is lovely. Great for the maturing/aging crowd. Most of my clients were around the 40s-60s, so I have used it a few times.

I use Sheer Tint Moisture with Spf 15. I use it in place of foundation during the summer .

Redness? Use the Clinical Colloidal Oatmeal mask. The calming botanical mixer makes it even better.

Environmental control serum is good as well.

Caitlin are you going to try and find a salon/spa/clinic that uses Dermalogica since you already have the knowledge?

^ Interesting convo! Can I ask both of you professionals for advice on good Dermalogica products that actually help reduce the appearance of blackheads and huge pores? (or non-Dermalogica if you believe is better) My pores are massive! Thanks! ;)

Glycolic acid can help to make pores smaller but you cannot reduce blackheads, what it is is oil trapped with no oxygen getting to it, so you need to gently extract them, which are best done professionally. Always have extractions done after exfoliating, not necessarily with a peel, but a manual physical scrub can help bring them more to the surface and easier to get out. Your skin needs to be warm and soft and you should only have extractions done the same amount of time your face was steamed by your aesthetician.

Since I do my own extractions at home (and I dont like steaming my face because I have sensitive skin) I usually time the amount of time I am doing them to how long I exfoliated for.

Do not try over and over in vain to get a blackhead out. If it doesnt come out within 3 tries, move on. Your pores close up very quickly.
After extractions, you should always swipe the area/aesthetician should swipe area with some witch hazel astringent or an antiseptic.

And gloves should always be worn on clean hands.

If you are using intense moisture masque, that is actually making the oily skin worse. You are using an occlusive.

I suggest use Colloidal Masque or Plankton Masque. You can use purifying botanical mixer as well, though it is optional.

my skin is dry, I had some acne but these parts were not oily :) really weird indeed

went to the dermatologist and after 1 week of pills and prescription creams the red bumps are gone apart from 2 tiny bumps, now I'm just stuck with lots of brown/red pigmentation scars/spots :( :( still not nice but at least it's improving
(reason for my severe breakout is my birth control pill)

thank you so much! Oh dear blackhead removal sounds very scary... I suppose I will get it done professionally then :P

I swear by their stuff. I tried everything and then my facialist recommended it and it' amazing.

I am back to using about 90% dermalogica and I seriously love this range so much. It's the only thing I can guarentee will calm my skin down and keep it blemish free. Love love love.

I'd been wanting to try dermalogica for a while, so I booked a facial a few months ago with a salon that uses their products.......and I can't go back now. My skin looks so much better since I've started using their dermal clay cleanser. I really want to try more of the line!

Yay HQhair have put their dermalogica products on sale ^_^ I've bought one of their masks in the past,so using this opportunity to try some of their other products

Can anyone give me their opinion on the c-12 concentrate?

I was going to buy it but then I wasn't sure how well it would actually work...

I think I am going to be a convert to dermalogica. I am very impressed so far with the samples I have tried. When I have used them, I am going to book a salon appointment for skin mapping to get the best products for my skin.
