Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

Is it really that hard to call Narciso Rodriguez to do Jil Sander? for christ sake

That was the thought I had when the rumors of the Meiers leaving first came out - I would have loved that!!

Whatever happened to the low key return to fashion he had planned? A bit disappointing if it‘s only going to be bespoke…

Narciso makes me think about Francisco Costa, who will also be a good candidate. BTW, what happens to Calvin Klein? I heard they appointed a new CD for the main line like months ago but seems no one talk about it here.

Like Ossendrjver, he's not interested the fashion curcus anymore, which would be a problem for OTB.

I think it‘s less the circus and more the fact that designers like Narciso will probably ask for higher concessions in any contract negotistions than any of the younger generation like Daniel Lee, knowing they don‘t *have to* work (Narciso can comfortably sit on the profitable royalties of his perfume). Narciso has two kids in elementary school age. If anything, Jil Sander would have to come to him, rather than the other way around.

It’s undisputed that people like Patrick van Ommeslaeghe or Fabio Zambernardi have the superior knowledge of design in comparison to Lee or Blazy but when you‘ve reached that point in your life, most likely you want to enjoy a decent work-life balance and feel less the urge to prove yourself.

I would love to see the majority of active designers right now exchanged but it’s also assuring to know maybe at some point there is more to life than amassing properties and feeding your ego.
