That was the thought I had when the rumors of the Meiers leaving first came out - I would have loved that!!

Whatever happened to the low key return to fashion he had planned? A bit disappointing if it‘s only going to be bespoke…

I think it‘s less the circus and more the fact that designers like Narciso will probably ask for higher concessions in any contract negotistions than any of the younger generation like Daniel Lee, knowing they don‘t *have to* work (Narciso can comfortably sit on the profitable royalties of his perfume). Narciso has two kids in elementary school age. If anything, Jil Sander would have to come to him, rather than the other way around.

It’s undisputed that people like Patrick van Ommeslaeghe or Fabio Zambernardi have the superior knowledge of design in comparison to Lee or Blazy but when you‘ve reached that point in your life, most likely you want to enjoy a decent work-life balance and feel less the urge to prove yourself.

I would love to see the majority of active designers right now exchanged but it’s also assuring to know maybe at some point there is more to life than amassing properties and feeding your ego.

She's showing her debut collection for brand at NYFW in February 2025. We'll probably hear more of her when we get closer to that date.

The biggest difference between what happened in the '80s and what's happening right now in social media. social media talks about it they research, information is very different from when I was growing up. All we had was fashion files and magazines. This is going to be a long battle the only way you can truly win is fashion and design.

Very true! I used to be a bit of a sneakerhead and in general the culture hit a plateau and has been going downhill in popularity but the fakes are so good now that they even have better quality control than the real products.

And also 1000% spot on about social media being an influential factor. I don’t know how this forum feels about TikTok but to me it has been more useful and opened my eyes to so much more than any other platform. The younger generations seem to care more about design than brand name so I have hope this translates to something more substantial once they have (more) buying power lol.

more and more i hear Vitale to Versace since he told people of his departure of miu miu since november last year 2024 ...he will be at Miu Miu till feb but not working on the upcoming fashion show.

its would be perfect hype headline successful top hit miu miu brand designer poached going to versace , will make great for selling it off at a better price. (how many investors/advisers know or will disclose that miu miu is miuccia and lotta formula ??)

knowing how comfy prada life is when your reached the circle (ask Fabio), he would have only left for something bigger.

success of miu miu is really in hand of miuccia relationship with Lotta´s styling direction, the team was the same under katie grand and the result was something else.

Fendi knowing LVMH they will go for some star /already know person, they were close to securing Alessandro till his crazy demand for removing the fendi fam was the red line crossed for LVMH lol

i feel LVMH want to see how silvia will do at fendi they can stretch time after all she made so many hit bags/acc and that what keeps the light on there

Of course its a big part to do with Miuccia (and Fabio before he left) combo with Lotta's styling that suits Miu Miu context. 70% of the design team changed actually in the last 2-3 years (coming from external brands who are bit more hands on with their design opinion which is a first for them since they usually always hire Italians yes-men from dSquared, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana ), with Dario and his right hand being the only two from being there many years/Katie Grand period.
But everyone knows the 'top lieutenants' there are just executors, same as Prada Womens and Mens.

Fendi next CD is already decided, will be announced before the summer. Not PP in the end!

Fendi is just going to have to take one for the team because we have suffered MGC for far too long. Maybe it is a way to unload her. I hope her contract at Fendi will be SHORT and she retires. Good riddance !
