Things are indeed really strange these days... Let's see if it gets confirmed because now everything is a rollercoaster... There's a lot of rumours, only because the hiring processes are extra tumultuous considering the state of the industry...
Allegedly, MGC at Fendi, the former JS duo at Loro Piana...
I believe we're in for a ride still for a while as I'm told many who will debut in September have contracts for only a couple of years. It seems that the fact that some of these recents appointments ended up being, let's say, "not so fruitful" business decisions (Burberry, Valentino...) is keeping everyone on their toes.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. What's next for McQueen (McGirr was appointed in late 2023 - will he get renewed?), Marni (next year will mark 10 years of Risso at the house), Diesel (let's see how long Martens juggles both Diesel and Margiela), Bally (is it going to fade back into obscurity or are they going to name another CD eventually?), Proenza (both exited to Loewe early this year) ...
The danger is nowadays there's no time (for customers and industry people) to digest. CDs don't have time to establish their vision and are expected to perform instantly. Creativity is, more than ever, disposable.
