Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

I really want to know what was going through Grimaldi's head when he looked at those clothes and thought "yes, this is exactly what we need for A to Z!"
They collaborate with an established designer for the Ready-to-Wear seasons with graduate student collaborations during the Couture show. A tangled mess.

Unfortunately, AZ Factory has been an absolute failure and I don't think Richemont will keep the brand alive for the next 3+ years. This rotational mode just won't work for a brand without a strong identity. What's more, I don't even think they have a proper customer base to begin with. Everything about this brand feels random and chaotic.

the way I understand it reading the explanation is that Azfactory is not a brand anyway, more like a showroom or factory sort of thing for different brands they feel can have potential for Richemont.

Based on Pelagia's resumé I think we know why they let Louise go. Obviously, Louise's clothes are not street hype enough.

I love Louise Tenure, she captured perfectly what I envisioned luxe elevated sportswear. Too bad the Lacoste suits want to chase a different crowd.

I'll keep an open mind, let's hope her debut is better than the other Yeezy guy at Givenchy.

The people I know who have worked with her LOVE her.

Despite her time at Yeezy, I don't really think she's part of that streetwear world at all. But she does have a strong background in sport and performance wear... which is the bulk of Lacoste's business.

The switch from Louise to her signals to me that they are ready to get out of the fashion market and instead double down on their bread and butter.

To give you some perspective, at Calvin she worked on Collection under Italo Zucchelli.

I guess little people are following these following two brands like me

St.John - Zoe Turner quits
Alfred Dunhill - Mark Weston quits

Interesting! It's rare for these appointments or shofts to be publicised, brands like these tend to run on keeping their creative directors very low-profile (v different to how high fashion does it).

^ I haven't even see St John's in years! (Maybe due to more online shopping during the pandemic)

ah that's too bad, i enjoyed weston's experimental-luxe aesthetic. now where am i gonna get my $4K lamb leather popovers?

I hoped Louise would go to Chloé and I don't know what to think about this appointment as Carven had been doomed for years now. But fingers crossed for Trotter, I really hope her vision saves the brand.
