Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

Hummmmm .... Christian Lacroix has been acquired by a Spanish company. This opens up a new house potentially. To toss the common names to get them out of the way ... Galliano or PPP ?
Is CH Carolina Herrera the same as Carolina Herrera? I've read that Sociedad Textil Lonia (STL), which owns Lacroix, also owns CH Carolina Herrera. However, Puig owns Carolina Herrera? So I assume CH must be a licensing deal company?"

Just looked at the website and found this:
Maison Herrera is characterized by the iconic style and natural sophistication of its founder Carolina Herrera, who launched the Carolina Herrera New York brand in 1981, followed by the CH Carolina Herrera line in 2001.

Never really knew about CH other than that I saw a lot of things with that awful CH monogram pattern everywhere. I wonder if it means that there will be no haute couture in the end ?

CH is the commercial line....Carolina Herrera New York is what you see on the runway...

Lacroix couldn't survive at a time when the fashion ecosystem was more in its favor, I'm interested in what the brand being bought means and why. Lacroix was gorgeous, in fact I bought things on the resale market before they caught on to his history and relevance - now the price has gone up for some of the interesting things.

I don't think it needs to be revived if it will just be dumbed down into the fast fashion that luxury and fashion brands are now operating under.

According to Fashion Network PUIG owns 25% of Sociedad Textile Lonia
In 2000, STL launched the CH Carolina Herrera lifestyle brand, the younger sibling of Puig-owned Carolina Herrera, following a deal with Carolina Herrera Ltd. In 2014, Puig bought the 25% stake in STL that was held by LVMH. The remaining 75% is in the hands of the Domínguez family, whose third generation has created the Bimba y Lola label. Another branch of the family is in charge of the Adolfo Domínguez label.

If he's a part of it then I'm okay with it but I don't see it coming back it's such an important brand so many stores he's told he's one of my top five couturier. He always lived in his own world and that's what made him great. His clothes were for women with intelligence and understood art in history very well. I was recently scrolling on my Instagram and a stupid Instagram stylist said that prints are over so imagine this designer trying to sell clothes and this generation.

I don't want Galliano working for others anymore. He deserves his own label back.
I want to see his dreams come out at his last of ages he's around 62 now and let's see what he can do he's so important to the history of fashion and him working and trying to sell clothes and t-shirts and bikinis again is so boring. Galliano for galliano is the best way

In the perfect world, Galliano go back to John Galliano with minority stakes from LVMH similar to what Phoebe Philo is doing.
LVMH or even Renzo Rosso can help with the executive team.

John needs to do his own thing, a bit like Herve Léger when he set up his own little house. I don’t think the brand needs huge ambitions. He can launch a fragrance, do his shows, sell clothes in very limited numbers and have his Couture. A bit like Schiaparelli but with the strength of fragrances (If and only if the fragrance is a success).

PPP should go to Fendi. At least, he will do something interesting.

MGC should go to Pucci because I think her aesthetic and commercial approach could really work for the brand, more than what Miceli is doing.

Miceli should go back to jewelry/accessories.
Maybe not in the expected way but it's an opportunity to turnaround the brand....

I don;t know if Gucci want him....he was interviewed before right? ....

What are the other options for him then?...
I don’t think you can turn around Ferragamo when the family is blocking any chances to have a cohesive vision there.
He will be too expensive anyway.

There are many options always for a talent like that. It has to fit his desire, aspirations but also his lifestyle.

Fendi was the best option for him as a Roman. Valentino was in Rome.

You made me scream… I have a soft spot for Pucci, and while I hate what Miceli is doing, MGC with her lifeless-nude-beige palette would be the death of the brand in terms of spirit and creativity (even if it will surely be more successful in terms of merchandising…)

Dude can you please find a job directing these fashion houses because this is dead on perfect. Mgc at pucci never came to my mind but wow that would be great bring some tough commercial ability to that brand. Yes galliano should be thinking small he doesn't really need advertisements in magazines and things like that because the world has changed since his dior days so advertisement is cheaper his best advertisement was his fashion shows so he would have to focus on that and production, perfect that will keep the business a float and maybe even profitable. And he can dream 😍

Believe it or not I'm a big fan of MGC I LOVE PEOPLE THAT WORK IN FASHION WITH A LOT OF know how, she knows how to produce, work a couture house start a point of view and finish it that's very important. Virginia was also a good design at Chanel but she couldn't do those steps I just listed very well that and she had a horrible stylist so we will probably never see her fashion again.

Apparently Jean Paul Gaultier is done with the guest designers and a permanent designer at the house will be announced soon...no word yet on who? Source: Lauren Sherman

If that is true, a big final promiscuity of streetwalkers and JPG sailors - that’s exactly what I want to see from Ludovic's collaboration!!

As much as I'm sad at the decision, the concept really hit its peak with Ackermann and Dossena's outings. Rocha's collection was obscenely cliche and Di Felice's collection, while interesting and dynamic, fell a bit flat.

The better picks we're always the the more established young designers. The last couple of shows were very boring.

Just be thankful at least Puig isn't pushing a Harris Reed (Nina Ricci) x JPG like they did with Dossena Paco Rabanne

Yes, Paco Rabanne will forver be Paco Rabanne, not just Rabanne
