It’s not an insult at all. Being behind the scenes is the best place to be. He was clearly very successful before Gucci. Becoming a creative director instantly puts a target on your back. I hope he finds something in a studio. He can use his skills in a more productive way.
I think once you’ve been the star is hard to go backwards… I even see that with managers, if they get fired they prefer not to work again unless they find something at their level 🫣 I guess it has to do with ego and with the fact that this guy probably won't need to work again…

I also think its the place of work thats vital - working in Gucci, thats a part of a huge conglomerate where youre merely a number and not a human whatsoever is one thing, and another thing working in your own / someone else's non conglomerate small brand is a totally different thing, so its very likely Sabato could have been unprepared to work in a huge brand where the pressure is inhumane
