Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

I think the one probably has to do with the other. Prada buying Versace and at the same time installing Dario Vitale as the new CD.
I wonder if he'll work with Lotta Volkova for the styling. It'd be a Versace I'm curious to see for sure.
Probably.
I just don't want Versace to become a juvenile and neutered brand like so many others are nowadays. So few brands are speaking to the woman that wants glamour in her life, in my opinion.

I think the announcement will be just Versace bought by Prada. The new guy can be appointed head of design or even co-creative but so far, thanks to her persona, Donatella is an asset to the brand. She won’t step out.

It's a strange decision. Why would they choose him? Because of the Miu Miu hype? I wonder how much say Donatella had in that.

Probably none because she doesn't own the brand. At this point, she's more like a brand ambassador (ambassadress). And re Dario, I sure hope he's not bringing that collegiate, disheveled look to Versace. It worked at Miu Miu but lightning rarely strikes twice (well except for Phoebe and Hedi).

So the Versace family sold everything? I am surprised she did that. I thought either her or Allegra would still have a stake, even if the percentage was symbolic.

All the family shares were sold to Michael Kors Limited back in 2018. She sure made lots of money from that transaction so she will be fine riding off into the sunset.

Per the 2018 press release:
"As previously announced, Capri Holdings acquired Versace for a total enterprise value of Euro 1.83 billion (or approximately US$2.12 billion on the date of announcement). The cash portion of the purchase price was funded by a combination of cash on hand, drawings under its revolving credit facility, and bank term loans. Concurrently with the closing, the Versace family reinvested an aggregate of Euro 150 million of the cash received for their interests in Versace in exchange for 2,395,170 ordinary shares of Capri Holdings."

The Versace family sold everything but had to invest 150 millions € in Capri Holdings, now worth 38 €m.
EDIT: I don't know what they did with the other millions they got from Kors...
