where did you hear this? a dior homme store would never open in chicago, chicago is just not the market for dior homme. maybe femme, but saks has a shop in shop for dior femme. lets not make things up now

Oh no not a Dior Homme opening, a Christian Dior for women that is. I heard this from the guy that works in YSL on Oak Street. I also heard that a Dolce and Gabanna might also come. This is to take place on state street because most boutiques on Michigan Ave are occupied by main designers and state street is starting to bloom with designers. A Dior Homme, however, is wishful thinking on my part

Tricotine, which jackets and coats are being put into production from the a/w06-07 collection? What about the black trousers with the white stripe down the side, were they there? Thanks.

Lee86, You'll almost definitely get a 44P suit in Paris, in fact, you just definitely will. It seems just about everyone in Paris wears DH so they're more than adequately stocked. Of course if you want a serious stock of Petite sizes, Japan is the only place to head.. but a little far away!

actually demand far exceeds supply, even in Paris, which is of course a marketing tactic. items are displayed very gradually, but once they're gone they don't come back, they also seem to pull out key items unexpectedly. this is supposed to incite you to purchase immediately what you like and not ponder around.

a lot of items and sizes are already sold out, the short trenches got nabbed within a few days, and the skinny ties are already gone!

of course i highly doubt they'd ever sell out of suits, but i'd give the store a call about your size...

I don't see a Dolce & Gabbana coming either since there's still the store in store at Marshall Fields State Street (and since it looks like that location will be staying put the chances of a new boutique are even less likely). Chicago isn't a perfect market for Dolce & Gabbana either. Practically the entire stock of the mini boutique is on sale.

I could maybe see a Dior (not Dior Man) boutique opening, but I doubt it would carry more than accessories. A few clothes here and there, but again, Chicago is not the market to sell RTW from the brand.

Went to dior homme on Rodeo for the first time. Bought a shirt. I thought the SA was helpful and nice. Cory I think... Tall with short hair.

Yea I guess..a lot of stores downtown sell Dolce, Marshall Fields, Nieman Marcus, Barney's and im guessing Saks. Im not sure how well they sell but i just hope they bring those boutiques to Chicago...but then again the Versace store closed down 3 years ago so u never know! :ninja:

Dior Homme makes me want to be a guy.

They're smallest sizes are usually small enough for women ;)

dior homme (among other things) makes me want to be rich!

I am so confused with the posts above...

Guessgirl, would you mind letting me know by your experience what is the smallest size? I used to wear a size 38 but I no longer fit...!

^Oh, don't worry, you're fine - the designer actually likes women to wear his clothes, and imo...it just looks better on women :ninja:

I wish it were like back in the days before S/S 05, it was so wonderful, especially the first few after YSL

Thanks:D ...what kind of decoration?

As far as I remember, they had some with a pleat inserts and black sequins strip... much in the same spirit as the decoration from S/S 2004.

i just got this ysl sweater today that is almost identicle to s/s 06 dior homme tanks. the only difference is that instead of being fabricated in thin cotton jersey it is made out of sweater knit. but it has the same oversized cut outs under the arms and stretched crew neck. i have the tanks and the fit is exactly the same. does anybody know about this shirt? is this somethign hedi did at ysl? i will take pics and post them later.

Tricot, do you which jackets and coats they're going to put into production from the a/w06-07 collection?

if a post bothers you-skip the post..:flower:

whimsicalist is not offending or hurting anyone and until such time as he does..he stays...
rudeness and personal attacks are not acceptable here at tFS...
so perhaps some people need to find someplace else to post, but it won't be whimsicalist

let's stay on topic please...
thanks...

^^the thread wasn't moved because specific posts didn't belong there but because it was mainly about shopping for dior homme rather than anything else. you can still discuss dior homme in designers & collections but we ask you to seperate between actual discussion about the designer/brand and shopping tips and advice. that's all. if you have issues with our administration please send a pm or see if you can find a forum that suits you better:flower:
