i think the jeans i bought at the dior here in Hong Kong are the reissued waxed jeans, but im not sure becasue i thought Dior stopped making jeans in Japan... and these ones are made in Japan? any idea if they are...?

i decided not to be a lazy sh*t and post the pictures...

I guess they are the reissues because its wouldnt make sense why they would have old jeans at the new shop...

Thanks Monty! Those are actually quite nice!!!

May I ask how much they set you back in HK?

I really like this jacket but just can't justify spending around £800 on it at the moment. Anyone know of any similar cuts/designs around for cheaper?

jpolla, that is the only coat I got and plan to get from the new collection. After two years of bargain hunting every Dior item I own I decided it was time to pay retail for one (or two) items. I posted a pic of it in the shopaholics thread if you want to check it out. I got mine in a size 48 and the sleeves do not seem as narrow as the pic on the LVR website (where I saw it first). The coat is precisely cut however and in my mind it will be a classic that will stand the test of time. As far as pricing goes, it is a good deal for DH (as opposed to the leather jackets and t-shirts) but if you are not willing to commit to it I am pretty sure you can find a similar item from another designer since lots of brands are making SLIMMER coats and jackets this year. good luck

i don't know why everyone is so up in arms about that miliatry coat with the 5 button columns. the closure with those three little metal clasps is so cheap. they will fall off so fast and then you won't be able to close it. does nobody realize that those buttons serve no function and just dangle there?i'm sorry but if eluxury is selling a big piece that's a big indicator to not buy it.

I took a look at it while i was visiting NYC a short time ago, and i also think it looked pretty cheap/contrived.

I've seriously been considering this coat, but now I'm hearing mixed reviews. I think aesthetically it's beautiful and could possibly be the ultimate wool coat for me, however if the quality won't stand the test of time it doesn't seem worth it. I'm almost inclined to keep my fingers crossed and hope for a Zara knockoff to be made. I plan on checking it out at the 57st store when I get the chance.

Yeh i suppose, in £ it is around 790 which isn't that much for a dior coat. I totally agree about it being a "classic" which is why i want one so bad. The leather jackets are way overpriced at around £1120. Having said all that, i do intend on looking around for alternatives yet i know i will struggle to find a similar fit. Oh well,:(

You're right in regards to elux selling it making it not that great of a piece haha.

I know the side buttons are purely for show, I could never really clearly see how the jacket closed. Metal clasps eh? Those sneaky bastards!

according the details on eluxury it says that it has a hidden zipper closure, so I suppose the hooks are only there to keep the hidden zipper hidden.

THRAS you mean this one?

Nice, i liked it too but around £160 for a plain hoodie? Buy a cheap one and add the holes.lol

Hi,
Could someone please tell me what part of the serial # indicates color? Also, is there any part of the serial number which indicates anything else about the fabric (eg, type/weight of wool)? I'm trying to track down a pair of pants to match up with a blazer I've got, ie get myself a suit on the cheap. Out of curiousity, has anyone done this successfully before with dior? Ie, bought blazer and pants seperately to wear as a suit?

Hey there Paul!

Hmm, not sure in regards to the numbers matching color/fabrics but I have seen a "suit" that wasn't ever sold as such before.

At a secondhand store they were selling one of the black blazers with the leather upper collar with a pair of black dress pants with leather piping/details on the legs and the fabric weight and color were a precise match. Definitely fabric cut from the same bolt of material.

I'm not sure how often this is done, but that suggests that it can be... it'll be a bit trickier to do right online since you can't really feel the material before you buy you know?

Good luck mate. Good to see you're still around.

I have a pair of 21cm black whiskered Dior denim, made in Japan, from SS03 collection that is just too big on me. It is size 46 and I think I've lost inches around my waist since, so it's literally falling off of me now. I would like to keep the jeans but it's a pain to wear them, is it possible to take them to a tailor to change the waist? If not..what should I do with the jeans...I don't want to just throw them away or give them up...

Altering just the waist is probably a mistake -- usually doing that makes the fit a little wonky. If you alter the waist and hip at the same time, that might turn out ok. Way back when I did that alteration on a pair of dior homme jeans and I was very happy with the result. But, apparently it's a difficult alteration and might be botched. Probably safer to sell your pair on ebay and replace it with a size smaller in 21 cm, or the same size in 19 cm.

Well, it used to be in European sizes, so 46 is equal to like 30/31 waist. I have a 28 waist now..so the jeans are huge on me
