Ah, someone beat you to it this morning... that's a record. Posted at 12:45 am, bought at 9:00 am the same day!
Well I've decided to let a lot of my flashier more collectible Dior items go purely due to functionality reasons. When you've only worn something once or never and you've had it for months or a year, then you know you're not going to really integrate it into your wardrobe.
As mentioned before, my money is finite and I want it to go to good use. Having a $650 leather corsage sitting there isn't a good use of money. Same goes for the blood wound tank. First off, it's too large for me. I'd likely take a medium and hell, I've got the execution of it down to a science. I actually wear the red blood wound on black tee that I sewed myself quite often and I have more of a "connection" with that piece since I put so many hours into it. Plus, like you said, the original was a tank and I just feel weird wearing tanks.
So although many of the items that I've sold are gorgeous and will likely be coveted by the buyer, they just don't work for me

Better to see them be worn than for me to just glimpse them collecting dust in my closet.
Depending on the quality/creations of the next collection, I could very well be moving on. If we have 3 seasons of mostly boring/unwearable-in-a-professional-environment clothes then that's a sign that it's time to move on.
As my tastes mature, I desire to add more pants to my wardrobe (of which I currently have one pair.. not including suit pants hahaha)... more shirts, less tees, things like that.
I can definitely thank Hedi for teaching me to appreciate quality craftsmanship, the concept of draping and flou, and how to pick clothes that make one look sharper, slimmer, more distinct than the rest. Standing out without being obtrusive about it.
I'm eyeing a hat and a pair of gloves by LMaltieri at Maxfield's... they could be my next semi-big purchase(s). I'm also strongly considering one of the Luster leather jackets (finally! In my size!) but man... $3k! Ouch!
