miss60 , what was that outfit on #262... is the model carrying a giant backpack?

to me it seems a bit like the geisha vibe there. i heard that asian influence is coming back again so here we go. ;) of course i could be totally wrong, but doesnt it kinda look like this:

The more I look at it, the more my mind files away each piece into its proper original collection. Definitely, definitely a retrospective show. But I agree with whoever said "soulless." Just look at the would-be Luster collection leathers...Luster without any of its original emotion and magic.

not getting at you in any way alex but ive been a keen reader of the dior posts on here for a long tima and it seems you dont really like anything from the newer collections? would i be right in saying you are a dior purist?lol

i do agree everything in recent dior collections is a mirror of a piece in a previous collection.

I see what you mean, miss6o. I've seen it at Dries van Noten.
It's an obi (like Japanese belt) but there is no belt wrapped around the model...
Looking again, he also doesn't have any straps!!! :ninja: So, maybe it isn't a backpack either...

looks pretty Frightening to me.. reminds me of a scarecrow :ninja:

sorry hedi.. i like youre old stuff! this put me off a lil bit

Is anyone with me on bringing Kanya Miki to dior? i really wish that would happen.. because if anyone is doing elegant androgynous tailoring in a good way that suits the dior mood.. its him.. not KVA or NAT(what about Jordy askill..no news of him for a while..still accessories?)

its time for hedi to do his own i suppose.. it will please his fans..because theyd have both dior homme(which atm should be called Dior gay(rcons)(..my good friends are gay and theyre calling this pretty femme/gay)
..oops got carried away.. yes.. fans will have both dior homme and hedi slimane.. hed probably make more money too..

but will dior let a japanese designer head the team? he studied in antwerp so i guess he is quite different.. for those who havent seen his stuff check out his thread! and then leave comments

While I agree that Kanya Miki does elegant, androgynous tailoring, I don't think he would be suitable for Dior.

There is something more fluid and almost organic about Kanya Miki's tailoring compared to the sharp and more rigid tailoring that Slimane is known and loved for.
And comparing their past and current collections, I feel the brand philosophy and also the market just don't match. Perhaps it would match more with the 'old' DH, but (most of) those fans have moved on..

But anway, what do I know. Besides, I'm biased because Kanya Miki is one of my favourite new designers. There's no way I'd want him to give up Kosmetique to work for LVMH.

I wonder why it takes so long for the show to be up on the website? Before it has been there almost directly, or atleast one day or so. Well, well.

About Kanya Miki, I do love his work and he would be a good designer for DH in the future. But I dont like LVHM that much, so I kind of agree with you Avanster.;)

I love me some Dior Homme, but I think his earlier stuff was more to my liking.

I think Christopher Bailey could be an interesting choice for Dior Homme. If not him, Camilla Jessen would do wonders for the house. She did the whole Forgotten Youth thing, it was featured in i-D a couple of months ago. She used that Jack guy that i-D love so much.

does anyone know anything about the ad campaign?

also did i miss something or was there no campaign for autumn 06?
