Hi All

I am going to Disneyland this Friday for the first time ever and as you can imagine I am soooooooooooooooooo excited.

Anyway I'm a bit of a "chicken" and not a fan of rollercoaster type rides so I was wondering if any members who have been can please tell me which rides to stay away from. I've been told about Splash mountain and I won't be going on that. Is the Indiana Jones ride like a rollercoaster?

So please any tips about the park would be fantastic or any cute stories about you know throwing up after the tea cup ride are welcome.

Thanks :flower:

If Splash mountain is scary for you then Indiana Jones may be too much for you too. Don't even think about Space mountain! It's actually kind of fun going on Splash mountain on a hot day because you get all wet, especially if you sit in front. Ironically, I love all those roller coaster rides but can't stomach the tea cups.

 I live 15 mins from Disney in Orlando and I had a park hopper season pass so I spent a lot of time at the parks when I first moved here...Just stay away from Space & Splash Mountain and you should be fine. The tea cups are fun if you don't spin them like crazy...my bf and I got on them last time we went and he spun it so fast I felt like I had drank way too much when I got off, when I hadn't drank at all :ninja:

Go onto the Disney website and you can look at a map of the park and get descriptions of the rides and that should help.

I also recommend that you contact our member seanutbutter. She is a Disney fanatic and knows just about everything there is to know about the parks, company etc.

Have fun!

^ Thanks for the mention! Unfortunately it appears I arrived here too late, but if you have any other questions, Label Basher, feel free to ask me.

I'm going to Disneyland this week! :woot: It's my first time in California. My boyfriend and I are going to Los Angeles but we got a 2-day Park Hopper for Disneyland as well, because I'm obsessed with Disney World and have been dying to see Disneyland!

What are the best days of the week to hit the Disneyland park? Which days are less crowded than others? I know weekends are a no-no.

Also, I've heard California Adventure isn't that great. From what I've heard, I think I'd rather spend all my time at Disneyland. Any opinion on this?

From my experience, I would say that weekdays are better to visit the parks versus weekends.

Oh my goshhhh! I loved Disneyland! I went back in late April and had a 5 day hopper. It was SO awesome.
Label Basher: If you're not into rollercoasters, definitely don't go on California Screamin' :P but honestly I don't think the rest of the rides are bad. California Theme Park has fewer attractions than Disneyland but I still think it's worth taking a look at. I love the view of the pier.
The Tower of Terror might not be for you, (high drops, but SO exciting!!) but it was my favourite ride out of the whole park. You'll get a taste of what it's like just by standing outside because the tower opens around the top and you can see and hear people screaming ^_^ it's awesome. There's also the Grizzly River Run (a river rapids ride). I remember lining up for almost 2 hours on a Sunday (it was SO hot), and wasn't worth it at all, but still fun.

I went on Splash Mountain like 6 times. When you say "chicken", are you scared of the fast speeds and high heights? Or are you afraid of lots of motion and getting sick? (both?) haha either way Splash Mountain isn't at all scary nor fast, except when you go down the hill at the end, but trust me it's more fun than anything else. Space Mountain probably isn't good either. I actually didn't like it that much myself because I thought the music was too loud
- Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion are must-dos
- Definitely don't go on the Teacup ride if you get motion sickness.

Have FUN at Disneyland! I miss it so much. Take some Gravol with you, or go to First Aid and apparently they give you a free Tylenol.
And watch the parade! Random note but on our last day, we were sitting 7 feet away from Kobe Bryant and his family :P

Lucky girl!!
Well, are we talking about the Disneyland in Anaheim?
If you are, you should go eat at the Blue Bayou Restaurant, which is located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It's overpriced [but, you are in Disneyland so everything is expensive] and the food isn't spectacular, but the ambience is nice [as long as there are no screaming children]. Definately make reservations ahead of time - (714) 781-3463
This is it:

-Run to Space Mountain as soon as you get there
-Get in line for fast passes

Enjoy your time at Disneyland!! :flower:
