Antigone, I think you look fine! Those jeans aren't terribly skinny-legged, more straight leg. They look nice. Try wearing tops that are sightly loose and long with a belt around the hips or long wooly cardies - I think the key is length. You could funk it up with boots over the top also, if you like that look.

okay, i would like for you guys to evaluate this potential fall outfit...

the look i'm going for is the "lots of layering" look (like Marc Jacobs did, but wearable). i was wondering about the black cardigan i tied over my waist-should i lose it?replace it with a black belt?does it look akward?

...also, i would probably replace the red boots with short, black buckle boots that i am planning on buying.

orange tank
chunky blue cropped cardi.
brown skirt
black cardigan tied over waist
black tights
red boots (to be replaced with black buckle boots)

em 692, the black cardi looks to be more at the level of you hips than the waist, maybe you try how it looks a bit higher? or you try a belt istead, also a bit higher? I don`t think that would destroy the layered look...

the black boots sound good!

Thanks so much. :) I'll try your suggestions. :)

paired up with black ballet flats, a long gold chain (very thin) with a small vintage heart locket on it, and creme colored bag? I'm pretty tall (5'11" and skinny, so I think I can get away with the tightness of it, but....not sure!! let me know what you all think. I could always pair it up with some skinnies,as well....

^ i love that dress :flower: and lucky you to have model proportions; i definately wouldn't worry about the fit ;)
...but pairing it with skinnies would ruin it- make it look like a boring tunic tee...

I agree with em... wear it as a dress if you've got the body to pull it off! I'm sure it's sooo comfy

My summer look

the Aloba is by Junya WatanabeXHawaiian Moon which is Junya Watanabe 2003 spring and summer collection
I think it was better if I wear sneaker, any comment? what do you think my look?

grey with brown

Do any of you think that grey matches with brown? Today I had on a brown t-shirt style dress with grey leggings and a grey cinch-waist belt. I thought it looked o.k. but my sister just laughed at me and said it was all wrong. Does that not match?

What shade of brown? The lighter shades would be a definately (and I encourage it greatly) but the more mahogany shades are a different story.

I know this thread is for complete outfits, but I this was the closest thread to my original idea I could find.

I'm currently cleaning out my closet to start a classic and some what minimalistic wardrobe of quality clothes. I have two pieces which I'm not sure whether to keep or ditch.

1.) A light blue denim skirt. It fits well, but the colour is the thing that makes me wonder... is light blue denim cheap-looking? The colour is quite the same as in the shirt I'm posting with this post (source: images.amazon.com), which I do not (thank God) own btw.

2.) An emerald green silk skirt. I love the colour and the material, but it's not very fitting...it's kind of flowy. I mean it does fit me, it is my size and all, but I haven't worn it in ages, I think it is too flowy and long, I usually prefer tighter skirts like pencil skirts and such.
First this skirt went missing for almost a year, and when I did find it, I thought I would have instantly worn it to shreds, but I haven't worn it at all, and that's been about half a year or a year... Maybe I'm having trouble letting it go because I remember how I used to love it when I was younger.

Neither of these are designer wear, just H&M stuff.

Feel free to judge and tell your opinions.

no-it really doesn't...

it's not balanced well...
it's too dark on the bottom...
the legs are too dark...and the cropped tight pants do not work with the ankle boot....

the necklace is too long with a pendant...
with that neckline you need a short pendant necklace that sits in the V on the neckline...
or you need a longer chain that has no pendant and will hang like a U shape...

plus the bottom part is too winter-y to go with the top part...
change the necklace and the footwear to make it work...

hope this helps...:flower:...

why_fashion, softgrey summed it all perfectly :)
IMO, it's just way too much.. and I can't stress more about the part of ankle boots with cropped pants...

I’m going to my uncle’s sixtieth birthday. And I can’t decide which of the shirts and jeans to wear, with this blazer. I think I prefer the black shirt with the Acne mod jeans, but I would like a second opinion on this matter. So what do you guys think?

^ I think the second combo works best. Im not so keen on the blazer (but i have a feeling its because stripes dont photograph so well).

pedersen: hmm very difficult... because you have nothing suitable for the blazer...
1. The first one with a black handkerchief in your breast-pocket.
2. The last one with white shoes.
3. The last one with a black blazer.
