don't wear your collar in that way... looks like n*sync in the 90s...

i didn't wear a suit @ abiball, too... but don' try to look VERY different...
your tie is supposed to be there, where ties usually are...

i'd wear it like a normal shirt+tie+blazer combo... leave the upper button unbuttoned... and the tie a bit loose..

hi tom...

that jacket really suits you:flower:

But i think you have too much going on here--the jacket has a lot of details (buttons, pockets, etc), the shirt is striped, the jeans are torn, etc. And I don't like the tie arounfd your throat, it's too chippendale, and too trying-too-hard.

So, you have a lot of options, i think.

A simpler shirt, unbuttoned (like mulletboy said), tie a little loose, but worn like a proper tie.
Simpler (i.e., unripped) jeans would be ideal; or you could wear trousers.

Or you could (if possible) lose the tie all together, and wear that shirt with that jacket. Again, simpler jeans or trousers would be better.

I think you need to decide what you want the key piece to be (jacket? shirt?) and work around that. If you have too much happening in your outfit, the distinctive elements just cancel each other out.

hope that helped a little :flower:

Hi Tom,
I actually think you look quite good. The jacket is great and i like your jeans. If you keep those two, i'd change the shirt. something nice and simple like the others have suggested. The thing that bothers me most is the tie...it reminds me of a stripper ...kinda like the last thing coming off thing...
have a fun night and post your pics on the What are you wearing today? thread or something... or just here ...

Tom- don't wear the collar of your shirt like that, it looks a little Disco to me. I do see how you were trying to be different and extravagant but I agree with the others, there's a lot going on so a simpler shirt would do and you could do like a silk scarf where your tie is.

i wonder, do pointy toe flats look good with legwarmers? it's getting quite cold here but i would like to keep wearing skirts..

i'm not keen, sorry :( though i think it's all in the style of the legwarmers, maybe a lighter, more bunched up pair could work, like in grey?

Please can you give me your opinion on this outfit?

I am not sure if the trousers match with the shirt

(Sorry the tag is still on the bangle just trying it out!)

^^^It's a bit hard to tell if they are the same colour or not, but they look close enough to match. And the silhouette is lovely :flower:

Or with skinny jeans? I def want to wear the shirt but not sure what to put on the bottom!

cwp the proportions look off to me...
if i were you i wouldn't wear those two items together...
the shirt looks sloppy the way you have it unbuttoned/open at the bottom... it might work better with a straighter pant
likewise, the pants might look better with a more restrained top..
since the items are from 1993 it would be better to mix and match them so as not to look dated...

mu55 i would definitely go with the skinny jeans :)

white ballet flats with darker jeans in fall, does it work? O.o

yes, this is a strong look, esp. in NYC. There are not that many people wearing it because I think it is hard to find really good pairs of white ballet flats in the U.S. (and people may be afraid to get the white shoes dirty esp. in winter weather). anyways if you have a mostly dark outfit the contrast of the white shoes would look great IMO. hope this helps!

The grey shirt by Claude Montana 94F/W collection, some said that the trousers is too loose, what's your comment? Is it good? how about if wear with jacket?
