Elle France December 3, 2021 : Willow Smith by Paola Kudacki | the Fashion Spot

Elle France December 3, 2021 : Willow Smith by Paola Kudacki

Often with nepotism models/celebrities, I feel it's goodwill for or at least interest in the parents that initially makes me want to give them a chance. With Willow, it's the opposite. Both of her parents are SO insufferable, I want to write her off immediately. But I have to admit, over time, I've come to think she's actually really beautiful, has a great voice, and is less vapid than some of her peers. Don't mind this cover.

Why not just give the cover to Linda since they're using her name as such a massive selling point on the cover anyway while tucking away Willow's in the corner?

Pose is ok, but I just can't warm to Willow. I now know it's not her fault she's so annoying. It's Jada's fault. Pity that Will is also getting blamed.
The Mugler skirt part looks nice. Maybe with just a white tank top? That jacket is too much and too ill-fitting.

The cover shot is so stark and simplistic, it feels like they're having to work hard to fill the space around her.

So you end up with Linda's interview seemingly worthy of a massive splash over the front of the issue, with her name in huge letters - but she's not worth being (re)printed as the actual cover.

Just pick a cover image that works as a cover image. Not every image does, no matter how nice the shot might be.

those black circles.... :/

Love this family and their kids are so freakin' photogenic :))

I find funny the petition against her parents, hahaha. But I don't understand why people hate them. I remember one of my teachers telling that she was mad about Will, saying he's too hot. He was huge at the time. Anyway, she looks gorgeous. Is she represented by a model agency? Her beauty is out of this world.

Willow's body language is interesting to watch. It falls somewhere between unawareness and control. She uses her body like a dancer, or an athlete. I'd not call this a fashion editorial: the clothes are a non-entity, they are there just so she's not naked, they serve no purpose beyond that. Since Willow's physique has more plasticity than the average actor/musician/celebrity, Kudacki zeroes in on movement, not pose, which is a smart choice, just questionable for a magazine like Elle France.

I understand, however, that there is no other way to address the subject. Willow you want, Willow you get. And to judge from the cringey "Vos ados l'adorent!" on the cover, one-dimensional, fast-celeb Willow is exactly what Elle France wanted in the first place.
