The cover (Valentina) was very nice, even though I don't think the cropping is optimal. There were some rare ads in there (Missoni sport). I liked the images they'd chosen for their couture feature but it was terribly annoying that their full page image of Linda E - looking spectacular on the runway - would be accompanied by an incorrect legend. Ridiculous.

The editorials were reprints by mostly Gilles Bensimon (Adriana, Fernanda) and I think one original Mona editorial (Gehrke), which is nice but the legends are simply awful - the layout so unprofessional looking. Mona, though, looks beautiful. And "the twin" Elsa, who looks a lot like Patti Hansen, appears in a 4 page ed by Jimmy Backius. I like it, like I like everything by Backius (IMO he's the best Swedish fashion photographer today, with competition from Camilla Åkrans), and the legends are arranged in a better way here.

In short, there is one very good original (I'd guess) ed by Backius, but the mag is hampered by some incompetence and typographical problems; The glaring mistake with Linda, the horrific legends (looks like an 8th grader did it) and the bizarre decision to make the only truly good editorial take the back seat to editorials which have been published months ago elsewhere.

Thanks for the review! I've seen some pics from the original eds and especially Backius' Mona ed was really nice, but I didn't want to buy the mag just to get those two if the rest wasn't that exciting. So I think I'm kind of glad I didn't get it.

Backius and Åkrans are definitely two of my favorite SWE photographers as well. ^_^

On the top right under the E it says that the magazine is a free add on to the November issue of Elle. It could be just a one time thing.

i don't know exactly the year but it should be the 2004 or 2005 because in one of the pics apear a chanel bag 2.55 and cell phone that's really new

The Conde Nast group of the US plans to launch its two of its best-selling magazines - Vogue and Glamour - in Indian market. The company is looking at setting up a wholly-owned subsidiary for this. Conde Nast Asia Pacific plans to acquire BVA Publishers Private Ltd, an Indian printing house, from Bahram N Vakil and Alka Nalavadi, which will be the vehicle for the investment.
It has applied to the information and broadcasting ministry and the Foreign Investment Promotion Board for permission to acquire BVA. The government's media policy permits 100 per cent foreign equity in non-news and non-current affairs specialty magazines. The content will be largely local.
Conde Nast already has an existing relationship with Aroon Purie's Living Media India Ltd which has licenced the Golf Digest brand from the US company.
Foreign media companies are looking at Indian market in a big way. Marie Claire and Newsweek have tied up with Outlook group.

For the London Underground extension see East London Line Extension ELLE is a worldwide magazine that focuses on women's fashion, beauty, health, and entertainment.
It is owned by the Lagardère Group of France and it is published in the US by Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S., in Argentina by Grupo Clarín and in Germany by Hubert Burda Media. The first UK edition was published in November 1985.
ELLE magazine also hosts an annual ELLE Style Awards ceremony. The winners are published in the magazine.

Elle Korea

what do you magazine readers who are familiar with Elle Korea think of it?
I just did this PR thing w/ them while they were here for a photoshoot. and although i was impressed and disspapointed.. i wanted to know their influence and reputation in kOREA. im korean american..and id on't get magazines from asian here..so i have no clue ..i know there were famous models, stylists.. but the quality of the shots were so recycled from other ad campaigns and editorials. i felt there was a complete lack of authenticity. anyway... please share your comments. i want to intern in korean this summer for a magazine and id like to take your opinions on what magazines are the best. thanks! gomahwoh yo! :heart:
