Well, since I chouldn't find a thread for this, I gonna start a thread for this.

So, for those of you who do pay attention to Eurovision, which country/singer/song you want to win this year? Why?

And for those of you who don't know/not sure what Eurovision is, it is a "is an annual competition held among active member countries of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU)." (from the Wikipedia page)

This year, there would be 38 countries participating this year.

I will post video of the song later, and I might post a poll at the final (I do need some help tho.)

(btw, I want to vote for Turkey and Russia, I need help)

Hind's a former contestant of the Dutch version of Idol and one of the few successes of the show. Her name is pronounced with an I as in 'with' and not as the English would usually pronounce hind so it sounds just like hint with a T... The Turks and Greeks are gonna vote their ***es of with this sound...

Ireland has had it with the Song Contest and the fact that's all Eastern European countries voting for each other. And the fact that it's more about the act than the song. They're commenting on it by sending a turkey puppet:

If they really wanted to comment on the Eurovision having become a parade of crazy acts then should have made this sond seperate from the Eurovision. By sending this in they are only contributing to it IMO because God knows they are gonna end up waaaay up high in the ranks

Seriously, what the hell is this?! Do they think they're gonna win votes by waving around with other nation's flags and singing in their languages? Apparantly they are two comedians but I fail to see any humor in this. This is an insult and I hope they will flop bigtime

The Estonian song is just sad. Those guys are the most horrible example of what Estonian culture is turning into. I read that they are singing in Kroatian and that it is supposed to be a joke with the "Jugovision". I have no idea what that even means, but I'm pretty sure that it's some kind of xenophobic "joke".

The singer is Dima Bilan and he represented Russia on Eurovision in 2006 (2nd place). I hope he wins this time, because his songs are so lovely.

well I didn't even bother watching the contest in my country all I know is that its horrible!
wth VODKA?! it doesn't represent us AT ALL!

Poeple here take this competition way too seriously but I hope we actually make it to the finals this time! lately we have been doing horribly.

they do that to win stupid votes...which we won't anyway.

Well you can't really blame the people who wrote the song and the music. I mean they write practically all the Maltese songs that take part in the contest here. They've been doing it for years so they probably ran out of ideas.

In Malta it's ALWAYS the same people taking part with 5 songs each, all written by the same song writer and composer!

Well at least we won't be able to vote for the worst this year since all the songs are crap. (but then again, WHEN HAVE THEY EVER VOTED FOR THE WORST?! because if they did we would have won already)

It's actually really funny here. We all think we're going to win big but then we end up doing horribly or not even qualifying (i.e. Last year with the whole samurai or Arabian theme ) everybody starts saying "its not fair everybody votes for their neighbor!!" which in some cases it is very true. We don't have neighboring countries so I guess that does play a part in our lack of votes but of course the songs don't usually help in garnering votes.
