Gisele Bundchen Heads New St. John Campaign

Luxury apparel label St. John has announced that Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen is starring in their Fall 2005 advertising campaign.

The ad is being shot today in the Hollywood Hills by legendary photographer Mario Testino and is being styled by Camilla Nickerson.

The ad's creative direction takes inspiration from the ease and spaciousness of St. John's native California, seen under the bright lights of Hollywood.

The mood is synonymous with the star power, glamour and radiance of Hollywood but also exudes the freedom and optimism of California living. The new campaign will hit September books.


"California is where it begins. The wide-open spaces, the sunshine and the infinite possibilities, Gisele is the personification of those things" says David Lipman. "That's what St. John is about and that is the energy that we are capturing with this new ad campaign. We are thrilled to have her on board."


Unveiling a fresh look and feel for the label, the new campaign marks another step in St. John's repositioning in the designer category.

The glamorous daughter of Lionel and star of The Simple Life has joined the realms of Winona Ryder and Sofia Coppola by posing for a Marc Jacobs ad campaign. Richie, who is engaged to DJ Adam Goldstein, was spotted posing in Melrose Avenue, LA, this week for the campaign that is expected to appear in magazines from September. (June 15 2005, AM)

i don't get it either. at least sofia coppola has natural style.

The ads showcase 13 female and male models including Anne V., Kiara Kabukuru and Mini Anden, all in vacation mode — goofing around at the beach, on the boardwalk and driving around town...the company wanted to give the impression the group of friends was experiencing the good life, all dressed in Tommy Hilfiger, of course.

The campaign, which breaks in August issues of select fashion and lifestyle magazines, will continue through September when TV ads will air. The company hasn't advertised its apparel on TV in four years.

LIV TYLER had signed to appear in the new ad campaigns for Very Irresistible Givenchy for Men and the new Very Irresisible Givenchy Sensual Eau de Parfum. The American actress appeared as the face of the brand in September 2003. The men's campaign was shot by Peter Lindbergh, while Liv posed for Mario Testino for both the women's ads.
