Fall/Winter 05/06 - which boots are hot?

Curious, what do you think of these? I am on the verge of buying them. They are F/W 0405 Helmut Lang.

Not sure if you're specifically addressing me or just saying that you're curious in general, but I'll answer anyway Trouble with the username 'curious'

Do you know if they fold up and down? Just wondering b/c the one thing that kind of bothers me is the strip at the top. Kind of looks like a band-aid although I imagine it's to help pull the boot on.

Other than that, I like them for a casual shoe winter shoe. The only other thing I would be concerned about is upkeep. You may not be able to wear them in the rain by the looks of it and that shade of shoe is always hard to keep clean (not that it's stopped me before ). Scotchguard, scotchguard, scotchguard

yes.

i bought them in a deep brown and then in black suede with an oriental detail (like on the bags) on the sides

Those Chloe boots are okay, but I really love all of the Balenciagas, especially the wedge ones posted in this thread. Buckle, too.

I found some from Moschino which I think is quite cute, this is the perfect shape i just wish i could find something in grey or black leather with a bit 'vintage' effect to it.

I dont like all the pointed toe boots, they're really stodgy looking, Im shocked. Logically two of my favorite things put together would produce something even better. That long roundtoe like the Gucci's are just...perfection..
