False Eyelashes

Yeah? I can only get about 3/4 wears out of drugstore lashes, I think Ardell? How many times can you wear out of MAC?

oh and I never curl them. That's bizarre to me. They are already curled why ruin them?

I had Lise Watier ones which I got a drug store. I wore them about 4 - 5 times before they lost their shape and would stay on my eye properly.

I've had my MAC ones for several years (though I lost them for about 1.5 years) and have worn them I would estimate 7 - 12 times. And they've always been fine and retained their shape until a couple weekends ago when I was drunk and fell asleep with them on and one of them got bent out of shape

Has anyone else seen the Heatherette ones at MAC? They are made out of an odd material. I would post a pic but the pic from the MAC site are small. According to their website they are simple patent. But yeah they are interesting. One of them comes in a sort of 'fishnet' pattern

MAC eyelashes are brilliant. I used crappy glue on my pair and messed up a few of the lashes. Here's to hoping that I can fix them.

MAC is no better than Ardell. I have several friends that are makeup artists for Magazines and TV and movies and they have all told me that MAC is no better than drugstore lashes except for the price. I think MAC lashes are too fuzzy and if you take care of taking them off you can get several wears of any brand of lashes. It just take patience.

^ I agree completely with your comment. :flower: I love fake eyelashes though and it took me a bit to get them to look just right. But, I prefer them over mascara on some days.

I really love the Ardell ones that I've got.

However, the ones that I purchase are Medium- that's all I can ever find. Is there actually a Long version?

What i love about MAC eyelashes is that they are really long. So you can cut them if you want to and give them the shape and size you want. But drugstore work just fine for me too!

the only time i've ever really worn false lashes is for a dramatic effect i love stargazer lashes and i've already gotten so many wears out of the ones i have and the glue is fab.

for someone who cant really apply regular ones that well i find these style alot easier to apply.

i've only tryed shu uemura lashes but i must say that are absolutely great!!
I've ruined one though, so now im not using them anymore, this reminds me that i have to get another pair :)

I don't wear eyelashes very often for personal makeup but when I used to do ballet, I'd wear the same pair all season, 20+ times, sometimes the next season too (though maybe that's unsanitary). I just hated breaking in a new pair. I just peeled off the glue and kept using them. Maybe it didn't matter so much though b/c it was more for peole seeing you from far away than from up close.

Has anyone tried that "fiberwig" (I think that's the name) mascara from sephora? It's supposed to be false lashes in mascara form.

I love MAC's #7 lashes, but I'm curious:

MAC vs. Shu ... thoughts? I love the Shu eyelash curler ... so I'm extra curious.

Has anyone tried eyelash extensions? I want to have them done, my mom's friend had them done and they looked really good.

this question has probably already been answered...but i'll ask anyway.

Is it better to apply mascara before or after putting on your lashes? And where (on the inner eye) shoudl they placed exactly to make them look really natural?

I had a friend that got them done and they looked awesome nad so real..but when it came to them coming off, they fell off at different times and it looked kinda strange. The ones she tried to pull off ended breaking her lashes so now they are a little uneven..that kinda put me off..but it could have just been a one off bad experience

^yeah thats the only thing that makes me hesitant in getting them. Oh well I will just stick with mascara for now....maybe in the near future they will invent something better like hair transplant but on your lashes instead hehe

I'm thinking of buying the Ardell individual lashes, but I've read that the glue will need an eyelash adhesive remover to get them off.....sounds scary. I assumed that they would come off with an ordinary make up remover. Is this not true and where would I get the remover?

Fiberwig is one of my favorite mascaras. It lengthens more naturally than any other 'fiber' mascara out there. The result is very very very natural though, it lengthens but the end result isn't all that dramatic (it doesn't thicken, it isn't jet black).

I highly recommend it for everyday though, it's fantastic. No smudges either:flower:

Here's a before and after from makeup alley:
