Are you the most stylish among your friends? Do they care about style or do they just follow the mass? I have friends who thinks they are stylish by wearing stuff like Diesel, Abercrombie&Fitch or Guess without adding any personal idea. It's annoying because they think THAT is style and they totally lack of fantasy.

I dont see them particularly like stylish or non stylish ... I totally compliment when they get it right ... and for most of them I am their personal shopper/stylist so ..well.. you can imagine ...

Whta happens a lot of times is that I end up "borrowing" pieces from their closets and at the end they give it to me ... like this one time a friend of mine asked if I was wearing her grandpas sweater and I told her her cousin (a friend in common) gave it to me (and she was right) ...

They dress Ok, nothing very original and cool but they dress good.
My 3 best friends are quite interested in fashion but not into fashion mags, designers, trends, etc and they think I'm crazy because I like it too much.

They care too much about what people think about them, that's what I think they don't dress more daring and original, because they like some original clothes but they don't dare wearing it.

ehh most of my friends have other interests. Clothing for them serves a more utilitarian purpose. Like ultra said, most of my friends treat me as their sort of stylist and when I think they look great I tell them. It's not really an issue for me whether my friends are into fashion or are 'stylish' or not.

It's the same here...

Okay first I have to say, that I live in a small village near a big city...
I don't even have many friends, because of different interests and so on...

All kids who wear Diesel, Abercrombie or some expensive brands, think they are stylish as hell...

But friends see me as their stylist, who has to dress all (even mum and dad haha)...

In my case i like the style of many of my friends, they are mostly casual
and each one has her style which i especially like.
I personally dont like the "copycats" that try to look like another friend, by using all the same things like the person they are copying, this happens a lot between woman and is really annoying because the one that is copied looses a bit her identity.
Does this happened to any of you? to be copied in all by someone else?

Very often actually. I'm the most daring among my friends when it comes to fashion and the often envy my style and/or copy something. Plus I have the weird talent of starting wearing something that LATER become a fashion item so I'm basically never alined to mainstreaming fashion

There were times at school, when 80 % of the boys, copied my style.. okay it sounds very cocky, but that is really true..

Even though I don't dress to stylish, I am more stylish than my friends, they usually dress really, really bad. (they won't listen to me:P ) Sometimes it kinda makes me mad, because they all have a better figure than me and still they wear crap (I'm talking; bad trainers and bad cut jeans, cheap stuff:yuk: )

Can you belive here 99% of people my age DON'T KNOW Balenciaga??

yes I can, I am the only one I know that knows any other designer other than Louis Vuitton an Gucci...........

me too!! people stops at chanel, dior, louis vuitton and gucci! A few days ago I mentioned Hedi Slimane and they asked me if he was one of my foreign friends!! Altought I wish I had to say no...

I live in a small town where you can't even buy a descent Fashion Magazine (they don't even have Vogue), nobody here knows the first thing about fashion, but I'm going to a fashion school in Amsterdam next fall, finally someone to tallk about fashion!!

I work in a stylish industry but it's not necessarily all about being fashion forward. A lot of my friends from my work place are into fashion but not in the same way that I am and they're cool with that. They do think I'm in a sort of fashion bubble where I just do my own thing and they respect that. Likewise, I don't expect to shriek with them about fashion week and stuff.

A lot of my friends from Hong Kong will care about labels and ish know their stuff but they're not necessarily going for completel originality and style genius when dressing. That's fine by me too. Again, the know I'm very much into carving out personal style and again, there's a mutual respect.

I get along with all sorts, whether they're into fashion or not. I don't expect it to be a mainstream interest. When I meet girls who say they're into fashion, and what they really mean is they're into 'shopping', that's fine! I don't expect to have long winded debates about whether Karl Lagerfeld is a geniuis or a lunatic. Makes no difference to me whatsoever.

I have no idea. My friends dress as they please and I have no problem with that. Some make more of an effort while others prefer to dress more casually. I don't usually discuss fashion with my friends ^_^

Among my friends, I'm definitely one of the more stylish ones. I've stepped foot in Abercrombie exactly once in my life. I've been in American Eagle exactly twice. I've never been into Forever 21, Aeropostale, Hollister. I do shop at JcPenney's but it's because I can find a lot of pieces there that are cute for not a whole lot of money. Pretty much wherever I go I try to find unique pieces. One thing that I saw however was I started making some Fun Fur scarves and when I started wearing them they exploded onto the scene. I notice however that there are some people who think that wearing stuff from the thrift stores automatically makes them stylish but in reality they just look like they got dressed in the dark. I always prided myself on being the most stylish girl in the drama department. I actually was neck-and-neck with one of the rich girls at school in the style department but she had the money to buy 500 pairs of heels and I didn't.

I'm probably the one who puts more effort into clothes. Like maarit, I've never found myself discussing fashion or mentioning anything other than fashion week/police as a random joke. they know i have an interest on it but i doubt they know it's a creepy obsession. -_-
I usually dont care how my friends dress but something that kills me is when they show up á la posh spice with uber tight jeans/tiny skirts, boobs at neck heights and giantic sunglasses...I know i may be shallow but that's something i can hardly take, I dont feel comfortable to be getting that sort of attention on the street...and be visually humiliated by the well-dressed ones i happen to encounter.
*sighs* i had to mention it somewhere...:innocent:

I wouldn't say i'm the most stylish out of my friends, because i do think that they all dress very nice in their own way...i would say that i take more risks. My friends aren't really snobby when it comes to the stuff that i like, cause i don't do anything too different. My style is very much Stella McCartney/Marc Jacobs/ Anna Sui...kind of trendy...stylish, but not too outside of the box..the only thing that they have ever really complained about is my converse shoes, which i get kind of irritated about.

now don't get me wrong....I love my friends to death!!!!!! They are there whenever i need them, give me a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen and are all around great people.

but the one thing that annoys me about them is their lack of fashion knowledge.....i'm not talking about models, and stuff like that because that is more of a hobby for me...i love learning about the industry as a whole....but i notice how my friends don;t know anything about design..they just want something cause of the name...for example...they want a louis vuitton bag, because it's louis vuitton..not because it has style..or they want a chanel bag because it has the two c's and so on....they say they like gucci and designers like that but they wouldn't be able to point out a gucci dress if it hit them in the face.....

i do have one friend that got on my nerves once because she is a fashion major and she had no clue that there are 3 different fashion weeks....she thought that everything was shown in new york...we got into a big argument about it actualy, and she ended up yelling at me "why don't you just shut up..I know what i'm talking about....I'M the fashion major".....money well spent my friend.... who thinks that prada and dior get shown in new york? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

still love her though...that was the only time she ever really pissed me off...she's usualy an angel^_^

so yeah......:D that's that

I do give compliments to my friends when they wear it right or pull off the look but they always list me as the most stylish for some reason, that is a HUGE compliment for me although I don't even know it because I just pull together whatever I think looks good and feel comfortable in...........
