Favourite Cleanser / Cleanser Recommendations

Has anyone tried Checks and Balances from Origins? If you have, how is it and would you reccommed it someone with acne prone/sensitive skin??

My favourite skin cleansers are Likas Papaya Soap and handmade organic soaps.

Liz Earle "Cleanse and Polish" with those magic muslin clothes! I especially love the colours of the packaging because they match my other bath products and makeup cases haha

^^^Very affordable products too I might add...no 24 carat gold dust

Is It Liz Earle who originated marketing the removal of her cleanser with a warm muslin cloth? I've thought it was Eve Lom...anyhow I love to remove cleanser that way, though the cloth cannot be hot, it has to be almost cool for my skin, which is usually a bit red in places for a few minutes after cleansing, so I avoid warmth...

I had to find a replacement for MAC green gel cleanser when I found out how toxic it was, so I'm now using Aveda botanical kinetics purifying gel cleanser, and like it even better. I have oily + sensitive skin ...

PS No gold dust in this one either :D

I've tried so many cleansers it's crazy. I have combo skin but most face washes leave it dry and irritated or clog my pores.

I use Boscia's Clear Complexion cleanser and I love it. It's preservative-free and doesn't foam so it keeps my skin balanced.

I recently bought clarin's gentle foaming cleanser for sensitive skin after trying some samples, it's great! Since i have really eczema, and most products dries out my skin or make it really blotchy.

I used Cetaphil gentle cleanser and loved it, but now that it ran out I bought the Cetaphil cleanser for normal/oily skin (which is closer to my skin type) and it suuucks. It looks and smells just like liquid soap, and it feels like it's harming my face (I have a vague dried/burning sensation after I use it). And it takes forever to wash off completely. I admit that it does make my skin less oily though :innocent:

I've also used the Bliss blue face wash that has these tiny granules- it's really good. Makes my face feel very clean and fresh.

Ta-ta, I used to use the Aveda gel cleanser before my skin got drier - I now use Aveda Botanical Kinetics Purifying Cream Cleanser - love it.

The other cleanser I really like at the moment is QV's gentle face cleanser.

My skin is essentially normal these days (finally) and it can get a bit dry in winter and a bit oily in summer. I also can get hormonal breakouts on occasion but nothing like I used to.

Everything by Dr.Hauschka! Seriously, I just discovered their products and I love all of them. Never really bothered for my skincare because my skin is quite tolerant and it doesn't matter which stuff I use, but their cleanser is truly amazing. Plus it smells lovely!

I havent tried any Alpha H products Belowen, but have also heard good things of them. And I would love to have that Special Cleansing Gel, it feels sooo nice on the skin, and then I love how easily it rinses and really cleans without stripping at all.

[vogue] I used to use Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleansing for dry and sensitive skin, since then they have reformulated it I guess and come out with 3 foaming cleansers? Which one did you like?

And is The Skincare from Shiseido cleanser called Purifying Cleansing Foam? Isnt there one called Nurturing or Nourishing, one for more dry/sensitive skin?

I am on a department store website for Shiseido section, and just see the Purifying one and then this Brightening Cleansing Foam..that interests me, whitening/brightening products always interest me and lure me for some reason, I guess it is the 'ideal' thought (for me at least) of having that almost translucent alabaster flawless skin, but I recently went blonde so I need a tan, or at least some color in my face.

Thank you both for your suggestions. :flower:

The Ultra Foaming cleanser is my favourite because i LOVE foaming cleansers!! I also like the brightening cleansing foam - you should try it.

The gentle cleansing foam from Cle de Peau is to die for! Anyone looking for a good cleanser should give CPB a try.

I love Cle De Peau but I didnt care for their foaming cleanser. It was the Tendre Fraiche one I believe, for more combination skin. It may have been the climate I was in though, (very very warm) and so my skin was reacting differently.

So I'm up for giving it another try however I'm positive it's near the La Prairie price, which I unfortunately cannot afford right now so I will be getting some Clarins or Shiseido tomorrow.

I definitely prefer the gentle cleansing foam over the refreshing cleansing foam. I think its about $15 less than LP, but still pricey for a cleanser. Have you tried Shu Uemura's foaming cleansing water? Its quite nice as well. CPB is overpriced Shiseido, so I bet the cleansers from Shiseido are probably the same because I'm using the cleanser from Shiseido Men and it seems quite similiar.

Just pre-ordered lots of CPB and LP products from Holt's...can't wait till it arrives!

Lucky you! What all did you order? :flower:

I think I have used the Shiseido 'Benefiance' Creamy Cleansing Foam before, but cannot remember. It will be between the two of these.
The Skincare is 4.7 oz and suited for sensitive skin, while the 'Benefiance' is 4.4 oz and for dry and very dry skin, which I certainly have. I'm just thinking about what will be most 'respective' to my skin type. I'll probably end up with The Skincare one.

Can you believe that I've been a member at TFS for over 4 years and I've just started to get involved in this community!! CRAZY!!!

Wow we'd be best friends IRL if we ever met I think!! I love those 'private VIP shopping events' where you get really nice sizes from a GWP (Gift with Purchase) and you and I like so many of the same brands and products!

Glad to always see more people posting in the Skin & Body Care section here at TFS.

In Zürich La Prairie is significantly less so I try to wait until I come home and stock up but every once in a while I give in to US dollars and buy some in California.

I like it alot. I like the way it feels and it doesn't irritate my skin (which is an issue for me). I don't use it in the winter though, as I feel it is too drying but it does a great job of control oil in the summer.
