Favourite Movie Scene?

the yakuza scene in Kill Bill when O-ren Ishii lays down the law with all the other bosses... she decapitates that guy for making a mockery of her heritage and follows up with an eloquent speech...

I remember that one clearly... :innocent:

One of m favorites since childhood (don't make fun!) is when Miss Piggy and Kermit get married in The Muppets Take Manhattan. I still cry! And I ADORE how Miss Piggy tricks Kermit into marrying him by bringing on a real priest instead of Gonzo.

Me too! That's so funny!:P

The main sex scene in The Notebook; not because i'm a perve, just because Gosling is so goddamn sexy in it ^_^

Clueless: at the party in the Valley: the shoes ordeal, when her dad calls and asks her where she is/what time it is, and she's like, "a watch doesn't really go with this outfit dad, I'm just having a snack with my girlfriends" and he's like "where, Kuwait?"

Star Wars (Old Trilogy:( at the end of The Return of the Jedi when Luke is at the funeral pyre with the force ghosts (haha yes I'm a loser)
Star Wars (New Trilogy:( when Obi-Wan battles Darth Maul after he kills his Qui-Gonn

Love, Actually: when Hugh Grant is dancing/when he comes to pick up his girlfriend at her house & he's looking for his coat

Uptown Girls: when the guy surprises her at the dance recital by playing her dad's song & the ballet class dances to it

Mystic River: when Sean Penn finally realizes what happened & it's already too late

Wet Hot American Summer: when they go to town & do all that crazy stuff, and then they come back & are like "it's nice to go into town even if it's just for 30 minutes!" omg that was so hilarious (if you've seen this movie you totally know what I mean)

Nothing to Lose (Martin Lawrence & Tim Robbins:( when they are driving & they find a tarantula on Tim Robbins' head & then he jumps out of the car & starts dancing around trying to get it off...and his shoes catch on fire!

Layer Cake- When Sienna Miller is dancing in the club to you go the love and looking directly at Daniel Craig, when I saw that I just wanted to be her!

The Royal Tenenbaums-The tent scene, The beginning part, the "I know you, a-hole" part
The Science Of Sleep-Stephane floating the water filled sky, the cat part, the one-second time machine
The 400 Blows-the cute kids watching the puppet show
Jules et Jim-Therese's "steam engine" bit
Une Femme Est Une Femme-The book argument
Elf-Buddy the elf thinking the radiator sound is coming from a monster, Jovie and Buddy singing, Buddy answering the phone with "Buddy the elf, what's your favourite colour?, Buddy singing to his Dad
Franny and Alexander-the Christmas party at Grandma's house (I love that house)
Breakfast at Tiffany's-the party scene
A Hard Day's Night-also the party scene
Marie Antoinette (2006)-another one with the party scene
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind-Joel's childhood memories with Clementine included, the "Meet Me in Montauk" part

The first scene that comes to my mind is the one when Harvey Keitel touches the small hole in Holly Hunter's black stockings in The Piano. It's is so elegant, sensual and meaningful. It just blows my mind.

Enchanted - At the very end, when Robert slides down the roof and then Giselle asks if he's used to falling like that. Then he says, "Only if you're around to catch me." :crush:

I'll come back with a few more. :shifty:

Hmm... one of my favorite scenes would be Scarface, when Elvira Hancock (Michelle Pfiefer) comes down the glass elevator in that stunning Armani gown.

Notes On A Scandal- The scene where Sheba (Cate Blanchett) finally confronts Barbara (DAME Judi Dench) about all the horrible things she has said about her family.

She follows the hateful attack against Barbara with a simple question:
"So what is it Bar? You wanna roll around the floor like lovers? You wanna **** me Barbara?"

I just read through this whole thread and now I really have too see a movie.
So'll quickly go through my favourite scenes:

Bridget Jones's Diary: The running and kiss at the end, and the guys fighting.
Love Actually: Hugh Grant dancing, and going from door to door to find Natalie.
Singin' in the Rain: The scene where Donald O'Connor sings "Make 'Em Laugh", and the morning scene where they all sing "Good morning".
Breakfast at Tiffanys: The end scene.
The Wizard of Oz: When Dorothy meets all the Munchkins, when she meets the scarecrow, and the lion's first scene and when the lion tries to run away because he's too scared.

My favorite is in Titantic where Rose is on the lifeboat with Jack watching over the balcony and while they both stare at each other the "my heart will go on" melody comes on. That and also when she jumps off the lifeboat and runs back to him are my favorites I always get chills.

Oh my god you can't ask this question. I'm going to be here for hours now.
I'm gonna have to bulletpoint this.

  • Like I posted in the Inspiration thread; Wuthering Heights (1939) when Merle Oberon as Cathy sees Laurence Olivier as Heathcliff after he's become rich and you can see everything she is thinking on her face.
  • When Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara realises that she never really loved Ashley and she always loved Rhett, at the end of Gone With The Wind.
  • Joan Chen as Empress Wan Jung eats flowers in The Last Emperor.
  • Oh my god, so glad I remembered this one: Glenn Close in Dangerous Liaisons has a breakdown, gets booed at the opera and then wipes her makeup off while crying at the very end. Best.
Okay I'll stop there.

Oh gee um I can only think of this year so...
I love so many scenes in Slumdog Millionaire-when Latika looks up to Jamal at the train station . I just thought it was genius that they used a camera that took more heavily pigmented photos for that particular scene. And I love the Phone a Friend scene too. And where they're at the train station and Latika's Theme comes on, and the train scene ordeal comes on and in reverse. I just love the whole movie :D
Also from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button-the scene where Daisy is dancing in the gazebo under moonlight was so beautiful how she was dancing to Dear Old Southland by Louis Armstrong.

the very sad...very melancholic sequence in bladerunner when deckard shoots zhora and she falls in slowmotion. the epitome of true drama and without words.

Age of Innocence: the poetry of false anticipation and calm resignation.

Edward Scissorhands: So bittersweet, can't help but draw parallels to the on-screen and off-screen for Johnny and Winona

Wicker Park - the ending scene, where they meet at the subway station. JOSH is so hottttt

Favourite Movie Moments

Just interested in this subject. Moments from films that you love. Here's just a few of mine. Discuss.:D

Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers 'Cheek to Cheek'. The epitome of class.

Moulin Rouge 'Roxanne'. Simply some of the best choreography committed to film and dripping in sex.

Gene Kelly & Cyd Charisse in Singing in the Rain. An incredible entrance & utter perfection!

Almost Famous 'Tiny Dancer'. If you don't 'get' this, then, umm, wow!

True Romance. Meet Drexl. Gary Oldman proving his genius. That is all.

Reservoir Dogs 'Like A Virgin'. This entire film was a game changer for me, but when this film started it was love at first sight.

Ocean's Eleven. The End. That's how you end a movie. Utter perfection.

I could do this forever but that's enough for now!
