I wanna say I posted her here at least one or twice. Here is another from 1986. I have the photos b/c I love photography and so I collect on whatever I like & models are top among those things. Photo Credit:Bensimon

My favorite pic of her. :flower:

What I meant was that Kersti isn't the model I am talking about. But I am curious to know what happened to Kersti

Love it! Thanks! :flower:

Is Ujjwala Black?

Claudia has aged well. She looks the same! :woot:

I keep looking for pics of Donyale, but they seem to be pretty rare. By all accounts though, she was a fashion icon.

All I know about Noemie is that she's French, biracial, and had a son within the last year or two. I wish she did more high-fashion, but I guess she got the commercial deals early in her career (SI, Loreal). She should do VS because I like her better than Selita.

Oh, sorry. :p

Was Donyale in the Michael Gross book? I don't remember her being in there and was Luna her real last name?

Yeah she is just a paragraph. She made up Luna, but her name was Peggy Anne Donyale Freeman.

Not a clue about Ujjwala I just saw her like yesterday when I saw Liya & Yasmin!
As for Claudia well black don't crack.

On to Miss Luna, like many blackmodels are hard to find on the net even those from the 80s and early 90s. So you know it's gonna be a hard find for the girls before than. That's why I like to post from the Superera and before. She is a black fashion icon, she was the 1st high-fashion girl.

Pat Cleveland(1972) with designer Halston who loved her. She was such a great theatrical walker & runway diva that she has worked recently even for Bill Blass. Photo Credit:wireimage

Stunning pictures, Omi! Thanks! :flower:

I can't tell you enough how I appreciate you being on the boards and providing great pictures and history! You're my favorite poster! :woot:

I wish I had a scanner and vintage pictures. I was flipping through my Iman book this morning and I wanted to scan the pics in there. There's a really beautiful one of Kiara, one of my favorites, and it also has some pages with Iman's old covers. I want them all!
