Helmut Newtons woman was usually a femme fatale voluptious body, big hair, blood red lips.. she also was involed od scenes of murder or violence and holding objects like a knife or a gun. I dont know any other photographer who depicted the femme fatale as great as Helmut did, anyone?

I can agree with the retro comprehension of the femme fatale. Ann Savage and such was the essence (Detour is an epic movie). The original depiction of tempting, ruling and yet mysterious and innerly damned woman has to do a very little with the current mainstream connotation which is mostly focused only on the sexual offensive point and dismisses the fatality of a femme fatale.

Are there any interesting editorials based on the femme fatale look ?

I would love to see them! :flower:

cool but you dont have to name an ed femme fatale in order to portray it, so most of Helmut Newton's stuff is about that and Gia did lots of that too.

I love the shoes in post #49.

I love the whole editorial.

Very sexy and edgy.

okie :) I could help if people need sources I have a 400 pages thick university course reader on the femme fatale in the arts

I've always found this woman to be the most terifying real-life " femme fatale" :ninja: interesting to know that her life is what inspired the creation Dracula.

Countess Elizabeth Báthory (7 August 1560 – 21 August 1614)
elizabethbathory.jpg

Commonly called the "Blood Countess," Elizabeth Bathory was a Hungarian countess born in 1560. She is possibly the most profilic serial killer in history and was known for carrying out methodical torture on more than 600 young women. Being from a wealthy and aristocratic family, her crimes largely went unpunished until she started torturing and killing the children of noble families.
she was mostly notorious for drinking and bathing in the blood of murdered virgins to perserve her beauty and youth. it was her belief to cooperate their youth within her.

That's what I think of the roles Angelina Jolie tends to do. Very femme fatale and gutsy type roles.

The bond girls are also what I'd consider to be femme fatales with the way many of them have lured James Bond into trouble.

Femme fatale seems to have made a huge showing this season

Ooohhh... the Countess Elizabeth Bathory sounds terrifying! Although when I tend to think of femme fatale the Bond girls always pop into my head! :)

I think the Baroness from the G.I. Joe movie certainly qualifies as a Femme Fatale. The movie was pretty weak, but I could watch it all day for her. She's absolutely goregeous :)
