Fendi F/W 06.07 Milan

oh our fur is "fox fur" thats bs, truth is they have a mass market so what they do is skin racoon dogs from china and this is no lie, obviously they will say ohh our fur is mink and what not thats bs, because hey they have to make profits ,also its sad because people dont know any better, those animals are skinned alive. Again those are beautiful clothes but they came frame beautiful animals. Peta people may seem like idiots but if you see the evidence they had you would be shocked..just an opinion. :(
I dont know about you but I can tell the difference between dog and mink, unless these Chinese dogs have very soft fur. I always thought my sister's short hair dog could make a great ponyhair bag.

These Fendi furs cost proably 15k for one coat, Im sure they're making profit off of it, Fendi is known for thier furs, it's like Hermes making Birkins of pleather or as you seem to think, dog.

i always love fendi... minus the fur of course. though i have to admit that they do some pretty amazing garments with it...

i was expecting mur of a fur extrvaganza at fendi, it being a big trend right now in milan

wow this is really beautiful. opulence without going overboard. minus the fur I love it.

oh, and rigorous cuts have been a lagerfeld staple for years, maybe decades... i certainly don't think he is looking at pilati's work for inspiration

I agree, there's lots to like here ... don't see anything I personally want to wear, but in many ways it's even better than last season (which got lots of retail and editorial approval), the tailoring is gorgeous, and they're really hitting their stride with the bags. Particularly like that black and gold "Greek" bucket with the patent leather chain strap ... and the one Diorling liked with the gunmetal "jewels" ... the animal print B-bag is pretty interesting too ...

And agree with Pastry, the shows so far this season are pretty meh ... so anything worthwhile or interesting really stands out. It'll be interesting to see how all this bleakness sells ... I hope all these designers have a few touches of color in their back pockets ...

Suzy Menkes about Fendi FW0607

Fendi's show started with a near disaster: the collapse of the overcrowded photographers' stand, which resulted in one serious accident. It should serve as a wake-up call for conditions in the so-called pig-pen where trouble has long been waiting to happen. The photographers subsequently quit the show in protest.
What did they miss? Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi work well in tandem, but there was a feeling that the couturier has subjugated his flair with fur to create a calm collection in which the clothes became the backdrop to the Fendi accessories. They were strong, even overwhelming: a striking bucket-shape bag embellished with studs; or a more classic bag with the Fendi grill that, in giant form, created the show's backdrop.
The presentation started well on a military theme, with sharp tailoring, brass buttons and the focus on the deep-belted waist. There was a secondary silhouette of cocoon coats that led to experimental volumes in the second half. |They included pouf skirts and a Paul Poiret-style evening dress in which the unfortunate model hobbled down the runway. More practical pieces with volume were a balloon-sleeve blouse or just a smart navy sweater.
The furs were luscious and shown as simple sportswear - apart from one more kooky coat with a cape collar and pompom effects. Maybe Lagerfeld feels that just because everyone dabs at fur, he wanted to make a statement of class and grandeur. But in a season when Miuccia Prada brought back the savage side with her applications of fur and Burberry was on the same track, Fendi might have come up with a bold statement.

This collection came down to two things for me, gorgeous outerwear and a few standout dresses. My one complaint is that it seemed a bit late with the whole military theme, but being that I happen to like that look it worked for me.

I really can't wait to see the detailed photos of the B bags from the f/w collection. :) I feel so teased to just be able to see the sides of the bags from the runway photos!

Looks great. I love the military-inspired coats and the bags, of course. Getting a little sick of all the fur though and I think very few people look good in it.

WOW. Fendi has really turned around, this is the first collection Ive liked since F/W 04. Gorgeous actually. The new B-bag I like and that bucket bag is sooo hot.

Very impressed.
Absolutely! I'm even liking the furs!:woot:

...i don't do fur so I more or less don't even pay attention to it in the shows. so aside from that, i love love love this show. i think it was amazing.
