Fendi Spy Bag

gg - i got to realize the 'rumors' about the high maitenance of the lighter colored spies are true.. the one on display had a teensy dark spot at the bottom seam which i tried to rub out with my finger.. when that didn't work i tried to scratch it a bit (discreetly and evil i know.. i can't believe i was scratching at such a beautiful bag. it was sacrilege).. still no result. :(

still it was so beautiful.. like the sequin or couture.. you know its going to be a hassle to take care of but the payoff is how gorgeous the bag is.. hopefully i can find one where i'm going next. in tokyo they were a couple hundred USD over US prices.. close to the price of the pleated

britney,

I cannot wait to see your sequin spy. And for you to realize how many people will now stop you in the streets about it. I am finishing up my final year of law school and everyone from the security guards to one of my male professors have commented on my bag.

pinklady.. i think i finally understand all your posts! you're pradaheaven from before, right? you should've told us it was you .. knew that spy looked mighty familiar..;)

p.s.: maybe we should start a separate thread called "fendi spies found on ebay" -- that way people who don't know to look on ebay for purses have a dedicated resource for all the auction #'s that pinklady & pradaheaven are so nice to point out!!

That seller has 2 more of those listed using the exact same pictures. They can't be real

I wonder if they have Fendi Spy Damage and Theft insurance...these are investments!

yes, just get them from an actual store. There are no good deals in fashion.

actually referring to thread #4731 where you said you think all white are textured.

Just a heads up - Saks has the black and honey spy bags up for pre-order, shipping by 4/14.

Of course they told me my black spy would be shipped by 1/14/06 and I'm still waiting. grrr. I want my bag.

OK, girls....I just put applegard conditioner on my new cognac spy. There was a teeny bit of color on my cloth when I was done. It was very faint. Do you think over time that the color is going to rub off like Pink Lady's cognac spy? I'm not sure whether I like that or not. In one sense, it kind of gives it a vintage look and it looks neat, but can I expect this to happen all over the bag? Do all cognacs get like this over time?

how does one check the authenticy of bags?

If you compare the leather on an authentic bag to the fakes you find on ioffer, you can tell. There's other ways to know too, but I don't think it's very clever to give away all the clues since I'm sure some sellers (/scammers) read these boards. If you wonder about a bag in particular, just post pics in the 'authentic or not' thread and someone will figure it out for you :flower:

Don't we all wish:)

maybe that should be my best business venture. Sell off my company and then start a fashion insurance company. hmm.

We also need pet insurance. Those boogers are expensive!

MY SA told me that cognacs tend to do that in spots. Some batches worse than others.

If you have a really nice shoes repair/leather repair shop...I would take your bag there for an opinion.

You don't have pet insurance over there??
I didn't insure my first dog (because I got her when I was 12) and during the past two years of her life I basically paid for the vet's new car :woot: The new puppy is insured ^_^
And if you have basic insurance for the items you own (don't know the proper term for it, I'm afraid) I'm sure a bag would be covered as long as you can prove that you owned one and what you paid for it.
