Okay, I was wondering... a few posts back I mentioned that the edge of the opening of my Honey is peelign just a teeny bit fromt he hardware of the flap rubbing on it. Do you think there is something I can put on it to sort of "seal" it so it won't continue to peel? I was thinking I'd brush just a teeeny bit of clear nail polish on it blink:...), but I don't know how that would affect the leather.

Edna, same for me. Mine has a very tiny rub. I use DICON leather cream to condition that area & it works beautifully! The rub is virtually gone. I guess the cream moisturises & conditions the nappa leather.

I got the cream last year when I was looking for something to condition my Chanel lambskin 2.55. It came highly recommended by a shoe/bag repair shop. DON'T USE NAIL POLISH!!!!

my mother has the dark brown (chocolate) one, and i absolutely love it. although i do like the cognac, many sa's have warned me about the fading.

I was at Fendi yesterday & met my SA. This is what she told me, "Oh! The cognac is the worst!!! Luckily you got the dark brown...." Apparently she had sold quite a number of cognac Spys & had a hard time dealing with many complains of fading & returns for repair.

Yup I finally got to own a spy after 8 months of waiting. The Fendi people really mucked up in my country

They told me that as well after I returned one that looked like crap after 3 uses. Mine was older, I think...from NM. It was not shiny....it had a very dull finish. I'm kind of glad it happened though. I love my chocolate brown!!

They definately did!

Here's the scenerio I went through (long story ahead, pls skip if you get bored):

Paid the deposit last year June for the green and was said it would arrive in Aug. Finally Aug, Sept, Oct and Nov came and went. Petrol and cherry and other colors came and went also. Whenever, I went to ask the SA they kept telling me that it hasn't arrived and if it did they would give me a call (I was like **** I have paid the deposit and I can't even ask whether is it here or not??!!)

I finally gave up chasing after it and finally they hounded me in December when I was out of town and virtually blasted my mobile. I returned their calls when I was back and was promptly informed that the green will not be coming in anymore (and that was the time when tfers was still able to place special orders for green in Selfriges in London) and so they kept a Cognac for me. (hellow! If I wanted a Cognac then I wouldn't have waited so long!)

I didn't want the Cognac but am not sure if I would like the SS06 colors so I was caught in between. But then the SA told me she could help me keep the Cognac till the SS06 lookbook is out then I could decide. Barely a week later, they called me again to tell me that they have a new policy and have to sell the Cognac before Christmas and if I didn't want the Cognac, they would then have to refund me my deposit!! I was soooooo about it because they are literally forcing me to take a color I dont want. Plus, they say once I was refunded, if I decide to waitlist for the SS06 spy, it would be a first come first serve system cos they have changed their policy and are not accepting confirmation deposits anymore.

Was really pissed but gave them the a ok to sell the Cognac but then (by the advice of a kind friend) I told them to refund me my deposit and the interests that is accrued to me for the 8 months that my deposit was sitting there for nothing!

The SA was totally taken aback and had to confere with her boss. So they decided to leave my deposit with them and let me have priority in getting the SS spy. (I picked up my honey spy 2 days after I decided to take it and before that, I was given a choice to choose Petrol also)

When the lookbook finally came and I went to have a look in Feb, I heard that the deposit system is back again!!! Really!! WT###$$%#@

tekio....I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo SORRY.....its like your spy from hell.... i dont mean the spy...the whole process to get it....I am so sorry u had to live with the whole fendi policy crap and the way that they treated u...making u beleive and trust them that u will be getting ur green spy bag anytime soon!! u should complain to the headquaters!! Because their branch fendi is misrepresnting them!! You should...u might get away with a discount or at least a better treatment!! God oh God oh God...the things we go through for fashion!!! I am sorry again...bu you should seriously consider complaing to Fendi Headquaters 8 months is not a short time...lots of fashion updates happen in 8 months...its like two seasons...wow...i am sorry again...

Teiko, I cannot believe that they did this! When I first saw your post about your Honey Spy, I thought that was your 2nd Spy or something...*hugs*

I never knew there were two different types of hologram spies, I've never seen any real life pics of the elux one. I like that one better, I like how it's less brown and more gold.

The bottom line w/the handles on the hologram back is that the braided ones were actually produced, while the ones w/gold leather were only made as a sample. My friend has one w/the braided, and then pounced on the elux one, only to discover their picture was erroneous!! The associate at elux contacted their Fendi buyer, and that was the story my friend was given, along w/an apology!!

First and foremost, thank you all for posting such great information. I owe my beautiful Spy family to you all... from whom to buy from, which ones, etc!


shopping247: I completely hear what you're saying. I'm lizziechic's friend, the one who thought I was buying the smooth gold-handled hologram from eLuxury... only to find out it was the braided handle (that I already have).

BTW, I has such a NIGHTMARE experience with eLuxury... I ordered the hologram SPY (and was charged 2410) just to be sent the hologram SATCHEL! Then was told the Spy was out of stock and that I was SOL... Asked them to track down another for me, only to have my friend see one posted on their site (I wasn't contacted). Then they called me with one, only to find out it had braided handles... I was promised a gift certificate for all my trouble, and that was over 3 weeks ago! Still no certificate.

Sorry to complain on my first post, but wanted you all to know!
