Thanks for your thoughts spycrazy... i LOVE your taupe/purple... and your black on in the background of that picture... I know you're one of the biggest spy collectors here.. do you really think i shouldn't get the white?

Hi Waterfalls,
The White/Black, Taupe/Purple, White/Green and White/Red are all made of the same leather, often referred to as 'Lizard' although it's really calfskin that has a *very* slightly pebbled texture... Also, this leather (all colors) is treated with a "gold sheen" that can be seen when you tilt the bag in certain light (really quite beautiful!) So the white/ivory/natural has a slight yellow cast to it because of the gold sheen. Also, I have seen IRL a white/green that yellowed in patches over time and with use. Although my friend Lizziechic is completely in love with her white/red... so if the white/black makes your HEART SING, then go for it! Any way you look at it, you can't go wrong owning an authentic Spy... They're AMAZING!!!

For anyone wondering about my Spy Family and which one's I've chosen to give up, here's the latest update: the Black is gone and I'm almost positive I've decided to keep the Taupe/Purple. I'll keep you posted!

I love the one with the flowers, but really dont like the pink one. It reminds me of somekind of underwater sea life.

The pink one also comes in 2 other colors, I added pictures of them and 2 other bags that haven't been seen yet as far as I know.

For the credit, the pictures were sent to me from an eBay member months ago but I was asked not to share since the s/s spies weren't out to the public yet. Now that these are on saks, I figure I can post.

Call me werid...I dont like the patterned spy bags at all...i like the plain leather ones....the canvas one with flowers is pretty but it could get dirty easily.

^ I think it would, but I really wouldn't recommend the spy for carrying files or things of that shape. I wouldn't be very easy to take them out and put them in, and the corners may stretch the leather.

i second that, i used to bring mine to work all the time with heavy files-and i dont recommend it to carry files and such, given the leather

true i'd hate to get one and then ruin it! my plan is to buy one for fall/autumn. I graduate this year and thought i could justify it as my graduation present to myself. especially if it was a work bag. but i'll probably get a cheap tote, so as not to wreck the long awaited spy!

I totally agree! It seems like the patterns ruin the spy's beauty. I guess they are trying to get more milage out of the style, but that kind of cheapens it to me.

I thought I'd post the pics that the Fendi store in Sydney at The Rocks sent me. Just for anyone who wants some good pictures of an authentic spy

The pictures are of the white, "natural" as they called it and cognac colours.

Also... I get my dark brown spy next week!!! I can't wait

Well the basic leather large one (not the satchel - I don't think they make large & medium anymore. They just have the bigger spy, then the satchel) is $2810 AUD.

If you have any questions phone and talk with Tian. She has assisted me the last few days and is super sweet and efficient! (Mine is in the post! I expect it by Monday!!)

Thanks for the info, Reducto.. Um, but being new to Spies and all.. what is the satchel? Is that the Bowler - the one without the mirror/secret compartment thingy on top? Do u find the regualar Spy large?? I'm only 5' 3", and don't want anything to overwhelm me, lol.
