Fendi Spy Bag

i know what you mean...my cognac has it....and I do like it...I just wish they could treat the bag or whatever before to help it...

Sarah Jessica Parker has been carrying around the Fendi Spy in the python...you can see it in her thread.

My Spy is actually really light! I was suprised when I first picked it up. Seriously, it is not heavy at all!

I think the leather is prone to some sort of discolouration because of its genuine nature. Mine came with a little card that says

"Soft Nappa Leather - This article is made from soft nappa leather, any eventual veins or slight differences ... is characteristic ... The leather is natural and untreated, it can easily be stained or discolour ..."

I cut a lot out but you get the message :) I think it is like everything, you just need to give it a bit of TLC ^_^

Thanks for the info, Reducto and *maximus*! Good to know it doesn't weigh heaps even when empty:D. This bag is growing on me more and more each day! Geesh, I kinda was hoping you guys would say it weighed like a pile of rocks, lol!

Regarding conditioning your bag, I just found out that leatherstuff.com, the place that sells Applegarde, ships to Aus. I emailed them about it and they replied quite promptly. Anyway, shipping is $29.50 USD by Global Priority. I ordered 2 med bottles and the s/h was the same. It's the Apple Leather Care conditioner btw, not the Applegarde spray stuff nor the cleaner.

Dunno if they will email me with a tracking # or let me know if they've shipped tho?? But in their 1st email to me, they did say that if I ordered now, they'll ship today (US time).

To those of you who have ordered from them before, do they send u an email when they ship? Or u just get that order confirmation email with the order # and a few days later, you get your product via the post??

Update! Got their email saying they've shipped (wow that's fast!) and got a tracking number as well. I think it'll be here some time next week, hopefully before Good Friday and the Easter long weekend. Will post an update when I receive the stuff:-)

that's wonderful, CrazyCool! i have not ordered their stuff online. i only bought the rain and stain repellent spray from burlington coat factory and have only used on my balenciaga bag. i've just heard thru the grapevine that the cleaner and conditioner have been used on the spy, from what i recall.
pls let us know what you think when you receive the products.

btw, CC, the bag is too beautiful to be passed up! pile or no pile of rocks, i hope you get the bag :woot:

I just noticed a few scratches on my Spy!
My puppy attacked the bag (she knew I had doggie treats in there :p) and alas it got scratched. I don't really mind much (I have a very high tolerance for my dog's antics, she's already broken everything from cell phones to a glass cabinet +++++) but I'd like to prevent it from getting further scratched. The scratching is very light, so it's possible it wont be visible if I condition the bag. I better order some of the Apple Garde stuff (is that the one I need?)

do you know if singapore charges customs duties on items sent into the country? I sold a bag on ebay to a buyer who lives in Singapore and have been trying to explain to her that if I insure the bag for its full value chances are she will have to pay duties. Any insight would be appreciated!

Hi cougess.. such a late reply but I live in Singapore and got charged customs through Fedex when my Paddington bag was shipped from Italy. Even though it was declared as a gift! Just make sure u put gift on the tag and it should be fine. You probably sent the bag out months ago already and already know this!

Hello all! I've been pretty MIA here, as TFS is soo hard to keep up with (it's not as organised as purseforum argh!). Here's a photo of my white Fendi spy mini satchel. It's next to my beloved Paddy. :flower:

The lambskin leather is IRRESISTABLE , but I'm paranoid to take it out right now because I'm so afraid of stains! I hear lots of fabulous things about Apple Garde, but it's expensive to ship over here and was wondering if anyone knew any products in asia that are suitable for delicate leathers?

Also, I HAVE TO OWN A BLUE/ VIOLET TULLE  spy, does anyone know where I can find one?

Has any one purchased the wisteria and keeping it? I just got one and am trying to figure out if it is worth the price. What do you all think? The flowers are standing pretty well on this one right now.

Thanks CC for the info on the applegarde!! I'm taking a look at leatherstuff.com right now. I do have to say that you MUST consider purchasing a Spy! Seriously, they look amazing in photos, but in real life the bag is just ... you have to see and touch it for yourself :p I've taken mine out twice now and it gets so many looks. I brought it to a uni lecture yesterday and put it beside me on the table (there's no way I'm putting it on the floor!!) and it looked stunning sitting there ;)

kip - nice satchel. :) i don't know of anything else besides Apple Guard (or Vectra?). there must be something equivalent you can get in Asia... so many spy users over there (in HK anyway)!

bagqueen - which one did you get, honey or white? did your heart skip a beat when you first opened it? IMO if the bag does not make you gush right away it may not be worth keeping, especially for the wisteria price.

I was wondering if anyone could help me on prices? I saw a spy at Neiman Marcus for 1875...I think, but it was def in the 18-1900 price range. It is was in a brown tan leather, not sure of the color exacty. Does anyone know which spy this is? I am looking for the least expensive  spy bag in black. Would that be 2075? Or is there a cheaper black spy? Thanks so much!!!!

Kiptrip!!! So good to see u here! I'm mostly a lurker on here:blush: and don't post much coz I just find it hard to keep up with a bit, unlike at PF;). I'm SS on tPF, btw, but you prolly worked that out with my post about Applegarde, lol! I just got too excited they actually shipped o/s, had to tell everyone!

Love your Spy satchel. It looks really cute! Maybe I should look into getting that instead coz the size would be more me. But I do like the design of the regular Spy:heart:.

Argh, you gals with all your dreamy bags!!! Reducto and *maximus* I was this close to just plunging right in there and ordering a Cognac Spy. But I really wanna see and touch one first. You're right. The pics are nice but I think this is a bag which must be seen/fondled IRL to be appreciated! So, I'm hoping to visit Sydney in July?? and check it out. Hope they'll have one just sitting in a shelf - doesn't have to be the right colour, just wanna see the bag and try it on for size. In the meantime, I'll replenish the credit card and hopefully don't get side-tracked and get another Balenciaga and/or Paddy.

Cougess.. just adding to what kip said, if you mark as gift, I know here in Aus, they don't care much about that and will go on the declared or insured value instead. So, even if it's "gift" but insured for $2000 for eg. they will tax the recipient the appropriate amt. If you don't wanna insure for a lot and u are only declaring the value as say $100, then it's best to use the most reliable postal service that offers full tracking so chances of being lost are minute. So, use EMS if from US and International Datapost if from UK, etc.

What size spy is this? Would it be the large? New to the thread and trying to catch up! Thanks!

Hey Sue!!! :D I've been lurking here for a while too, but saw such a lackage of mini Spys that I thought I should contribute mine for everyone's viewing pleasure!

I actually liked the Spy way before the Paddy, but I got sidetracked and decided to splurge on the Paddy instead. I didn't intend to get the spy, let alone the mini. Then I saw this white one IRL, and touched it, and swung it around in my hand... and I was sold! Viewing it online definitely doesn't do it justice!

Now I'm broke, but still absolutely intent on finding the violet/ blue tulle spy.. IT'S SO GORGEOUS! And nothing can beat the design of the regular, I totally agree. Which one are you planning to get.. if at all?

Thanks s247. That's true, lots of HKers on this thread.. anyone care to help me out? Arrgh, I think I'm just going to have to shell out for Apple Garde.. my bags can't take being hidden away in my cupboard any longer!!!

Sometimes Neiman if they have a bag from "last season" will have this lower price on it. However, I don' t think that they catagorize black by season, since it is timeless.
