oh I didnt think about ebay, will try that thank you. Always get annoyed with what I see but will look for the article. I think I need to forget about the magazine, its just a magazine article and thats all right?
I tried looking through the posts but there are so many-any rough ideas on price of the pleated spy? EVen a ballpark figure is fine. Are the goly python spy and the large lambskin with sequins like impossible to get? Would just like to know my chances before having the SA give me a yawn and a nod. Thanks for your all your input.

I think the pleated spys are either 3000 or 3300. Somewhere in that range. You can get the gold python and the lambskin with sequins, as long as you can give a 50% downpayment up front (credit card for US boutiques and wire transfer if you're placing the order in a Europe boutique.) If you don't give a downpayment, I guess you can get your name on the list but there's a very slim chance you'll get the bag you really want because they will only call you if someone who gave the downpayment changed her mind and decided not to get a bag (and assuming there aren't other names on that list, which is also unlikely.)
Once you've given a downpayment, they're pretty good about keeping to their expected delivery dates. I ordered my python thru Fendi Italy.
ETA, oh yeah sugar would know the actual pleated spy price. I stand corrected.

I just spoke with Andrea ( SA in NY) and she told me that they are not getting the large sequinned bags anymore, they will be getting - for sure- the medium spy sequinned bags that would costs $4600 I believe. You just have to give your CC details and no need for deposit whatsoever. When the bag arrives, they will charge your CC and ship the bag.

The NY boutique seems to keep changing their policies about downpayments. The first time I put my name down for the lambskin brown (which I picked up and almost paid for but didn't end up getting because I saw the python ordered for another customer) I didn't need to give a downpayment either. The next time I asked, they said I had to give a downpayment. And now, you're saying they don't expect a downpayment? They are confusing!

I smell SCAM! The seller even claims that his spy bags are authentic. $500 for a spy bag? he must be out of his mind! The buyers should be warned at once!

Yeah .. I guess it depends on which boutique you are dealing with ... I just got the brown python from Las Vegas .. and they only had me fill out the "spy bag order form" and took a credit card imprint .. they didn't charge me until I actually had the bag.
i know what u mean taitai.... after mess u last time i called fendi NY and asked if i needed a downpayment and he said "no" i will def get one but that was last week and he said they were getting some last friday but i still haven't received a call..........i'm wondering if i should get my name on a waitlist from somewhere else

The SA's at two Fendi stores have told me that only the tan pleated spy is coming in.
Do you think that's true? I wonder if they're just saying that so that you should buy what they have now.? Has anybody found a brown pleated spy anywhere for sale?
