Flip Flops

I don't think there's anything wrong with wearing flip flops out....it really depends on what you are wearing..

As always with everything, it depends on your style and how you pull it off.

I used to wear flip-flops a lot, especially during college days...but now they are relegated to weekend "bumming" wear since I am working.

In Hawaii, we call flip-flops "slippers" and it's an absolute must-have here. EVERYBODY wears them - year-round too because our weather permits it. It's not a trend, it's a necessity. ^_^ They're versatile (I can wear them to the mall and the beach), cute, and of course, comfortable!

I usually buy my slippers from Old Navy in a variety of colors. Usually, they're two pairs for 5 bucks. How can you beat that awesome deal?? ;)

i also live in Hawaii and let me tell you. flip flops are an EPIDEMIC here. Something must be done. Forget the war on "ice"! Start the war on SLIPPERS!

I think they are beyond vile. I am so tired of seeing people's nasty unmanicured, hairy, dirty, stinky, gross feet slopping in their rubber slippas. I know people who do not even OWN shoes. Only flip flops. They are not fashionable. They do not make a fashion statement.

Not even if they are by prada.
Not even if they are pretty colors.
Not even if they are the newest, hottest, coolest Havianas ever.
Not even if they are signed by Imelda Marcos.
Never.

(btw, I BURNED my flip flops from high school last year at a bonfire. It was so freeing. I wholeheartedly suggest this to any and all flip flop wearers.)

Ocean Harlot: You sound a bit harsh for someone from Hawaii. Were you born and raised here?

Personally, I just adore rubber slippas because they are a big part of Hawaiian culture. It's one of the many things that makes us so unique. Although I do understand that there are fashion snobs out there who won't let their bare feet touch the sole of a flip-flop. :p Like it or not, who could refuse a pair signed by Imelda Marcos?!

Let your feet breath. Paint your toes, get a pedicure and be good to your feet. I love flip flops and to be honest, I'm really not that lazy.

lkrisy- I do not believe that flip flops are part of "hawaiian culture".

I've seen this problem also in florida and california. it is a coastal problem. I can give justification for flip flops if you wear them to the beach. sand + sneakers = no

flip flops should not be worn for any other reason.

Then to each her own, and I respect your opinion OceanHarlot... although I hardly believe flip-flops to be a "problem". ^_^

I think there are many reasons to wear flip flops... walking to class, shopping at the mall, going to practice, to the beach, the pool, hanging out at a friends house. With a mini and a tank, or some crops and a polo it's the perfect daytime summer outfit. And sorry to dissapoint anyone I don't think this so called "problem" is going to go away.

I live in California, people wear flip-flops year round. They are so easy and comfortable -- somtimes TOO easy. I find myself slipping into flip flops rather than a gorgeous, uncomfortable shoe...

I think they are okey on non-formal events. But you have to have well pedicured feet and most important wellkept, cleen flipflops. Hate when people walk around in old dirty flipflops that should been throughn away years ago.

if you live in new york and you're walking around the city on badly paved sidewalks and streets for up to 9 hours on a hot sultry summer day, there's nothing better than a pair of flip flops.

they will never be your style point, but they're certainly not the most heinous problem known to humankind.

i love fli flops, theyre comfy...and contradicting to what people say...i think flip flops are fashionable...and also depends on how a person can carry them......

love flip flops...
love my work...

Please lets not talk about flip flops! It is freeeeeeeeeezing here. In any case I never wear them other than on a beach or by a pool.
