I will love to see the day that no one feels the need to come out and no big deal is made of it, but until gays share the same rights as do heterosexuals in regards to marriage, inheritance, parenting, and the like, statements like his will need to be made. It's encouraging he's found love, and that's often what it takes for many of us to state who we are, wholly and plainly. I was an obsessive Savage Garden fan back in '97 and people would talk about his wife a lot, but no one EVER saw her. I wonder if that was made up. He never said anything about her. All he said was Truly, Madly, Deeply was written about her and they honeymooned in Tasmania.
