i still like them as an object...but...
i think they make me look like i am going to work at the office...
but i don't work in an office so i don't like looking like i do...
...
oddly, i get compliments on them...
but it doesn't make me feel a single bit better about it...
:lol::lol::lol:

i just try to avoid wearing them until i can find a frame i like ...

Which cateye sunglasses do we like best - and any higher-end ones that are spot-on very very very similar to #1? (These are both Mango.)

These C&G 1060s are still my dream spectacles. I love the shape and the contrasting wire bridge.

I like the latter pair much better, with the white corners. The corners give the frame more form.

hallelujah...
i found frames...
AND sunglasses...

spent an unreasonable amount of money...
but could not be happier...
yay!

ah--
picked up my frames today...
had them custom tinted to match an old pair of glasses that i had in college!...
^_^

they are perfection...
oh happy day!

dries van noten by linda farrow, my recent purchase. photo by myself.

I’ve been wearing glasses since I was in my high school. I tried contact lenses a few years back but was never comfortable wearing it. I have sensitive eyes and could not wear therm for very long periods of time.... not more than 8 hours. I've switched back to wear glasses .

had my eyes checked and my prescription put into my replaced frames...
it's amazing how these frames change the look of everything...
it's like getting a whole new wardrobe...

*no tint this time...
though i may decide to add a tint at a later date...

i'm very glad i got them replaced ~ thanks to some good advice...

TOTALLY! I just got a new pair of glasses last week...for the first time in like decades, after my old favorite ones broke...and completely in love...it's like having a whole new self  ... a smarter, slightly more cool and laid back self that wears half the amount of makeup

well- that sounds like a successful purchase...
but why less make up?
do the glasses make you want to wear less?

Yeah, for two reasons: I guess because the frames already add definition to my face, so not much more definition is necessary through makeup. Also, the whole aesthetic/style is different. It gives me a more casual look than usual, so it looks fine without makeup. I also like how the glasses tone down a more dressed-up outfit.

I'm finding that glasses are like shoes that way, they could change the tone of an entire look.

yes- i think that is true, depending on the frame...
some are very nondescript, but some could actually define our whole personality...

i think these current frames actually do that for me...
it's kind of amazing, right?

what do yours look like?

They're simple, dark faux-tortoise shell, and squarish-rectangular.
They're meant to be for men I think.

they sound great...
i see what you mean about a more casual feel...
tortoise def lends itself to that...

I wear the Cheap Monday "Brightness Falls" kids' glasses. (I have a tiny head!)

They look quite basic and unappealing in that picture, but they suit me quite well.
