Geek Glasses

I saw a guy out last night with them on, I thought he looked great! My friends thought I was nuts because the trend isn't really known about here yet... It's only a matter of time :)

for me wearing geek glasses is far too contrived- it was once seen as a statement- but when every other person is doing it... (kind of like the ubiquity of alain mikli)

(dont mind the bad pics lol)

I guess I have given into the Geeky Scene ha ha,
I got two new pairs. First ones are Burberrys (fabulous) Second are just my Fendis, but i needed alittle spunk... Last pair is my old Guccis, classic but boring.
I Love This Trend :)

Yeh i think the same. I got quite an old pair of black rimmed Police glasses, but now they ahve become so popular i only only wear them when im squiting so much i look like an animal.

Hmmm... I see your point but for me what really would be contrived was if I stopped wearing mine just because it HAS become a trend...

...however, many of the glasses posted here I don't consider fit into geeky, they're just ordinary glasses. Geeky means HUGE, (like in your avatar, Stella^) .That's what I like about them, with "normal sized" glasses my field of vision becomes too small, and I get a headache. Functionality first!

Geek glasses look best on people who in some way resemble Morrissey in the 80's.
I love Morrissey! Although in his latest album "ringleader of the tormentors" he seems 2 have gone down hill. Anyway in relation to geek glasses ermmmmm..........as she said^!

Wearing "geek" glasses is considered a trend now? :glare: I guess I've been "chic" since I was a little girl.

Mine are very similar to these:

I love my geek glasses, I am always complimented on them when I wear them. (The only thing I'm not mad about is the size of the lettering on the arms). They're very comfy too, If anyone is looking to get a pair, I'd definitely recommend these glasses.

There appears to have been a sizeable amount of geek glasses at Givenchy Fall '06 Couture

My all time favourite geek glasses worn by Marc Jacods.

Is this trend still going or just about run out?
Does it include plastic frames of all colors (ie., light blue rather than black)?

glasses are nice to relax your eyes of contacts. I love brown plastic frames because they are softer than black without. Mine are moschino and I get lots of compliments on them.

Yesterday I saw a guy wearing glasses that looked just like the ones Marc Jacobs wears above ^^ He was also wearing superskinny grey jeans and a Vote for Pedro t-shirt.. How indie

I'm glad that at least geeky glasses are becoming more accepted... I remember a few years ago everyone only wore lenses. But as someone who has to wear glasses all the time (allergic to lenses) those geeky glasses can get sooo annoying. Everything you see is framed in thick black. I've finally given up my rectangular Pradas and gotten subtle frameless Chanels because I want people to see my face, not my glasses.
