It's an impressive and thorough biography of Gemma!

Gemma and Karolina Kurkova were both only 16 years old the first time they covered US Vogue. They're really the only ones to be thaaat young. Other than Brooke Shields, of course, who appeared on the cover in Feb 1980 when she was only 14 years old.

The last time her Instagram was public (several months ago) I saw she posted pictures of the beach, some paintings from an art gallery, a motorcycle that she called her baby (wow!) and a couple of cute videos of baby Naia sleeping

Gemma looks wonderful. I really hope the new year will be a huge comeback for her.It seems as if late 2014 is becoming a huge comeback for models (Freja, Lara, Jessica Stam), and we most definitely need Gemma back! Fingers crossed for Gemma and Meisel for Prada!

Well, I guess seemingly small differences to most people aren't a big deal, but fit is a big issue for brands, and agencies have such a long history of lying about heights (and every damn thing) to get a girl in the door. I don't know if it's more of a comment on the agencies or the brands that the numbers matter so much. And you're right, proportions matter most.

One time an agency in NYC had a girl listed at 5'9.5 who told me in person that she was 6' (and honestly seemed even taller), so I tweeted about it vaguely, and the next day, they had changed it to 5'10.5. So precise, yet completely fabricated. Ridiculous.
