No, I figured I'd give this thread a try. I'll be heading down to Miami next weekend I guess I'll just go to the Chanel boutique in the Bal Harbour shops. Hopefully, they'll give me a heads up on whether or not they can get me one.

$1500 is a great budget for Chanel, you can have several options.

I haven't bought a 2.55 in a while. Can you still get them for under $1500? The last time I checked the price, I think they were $1400. I remember when they were around $1200.

Yes, because both of them are different.

Think of the classic 2.55 as a conventional classic, while the re-issue has a little more oopmh with the wrinkly distressed leather and delicate patterns on the shoulder chain.

the mini 2.55 bag is around 900-1000, the medium classic flap is around 1575 for caviar, a bit more like 1700 for the lambskin. if you get it sent from somewhere with no tax, it could go better with your budget. my caviar with tax was around 1750 or so! the 2.55 flap is classic but they have smaller versions that aren't the "classic" flap but are still very fun and practical to have...the chanel 2005/2006 bag thread may give you some ideas

Thank you girls for your help. I looked at the 2005/06 Chanel thread and got half through the 100+pages It is very helpful and I really liked the style a girl had posted a picture in red which retailed for 1000 and I believe was just called a flap bag...
Have any of you seen any of these bags for spring for this retail? I believe they came in red, black and white.

i'm debating between a white lambskin or caviar chanel right now...
i LOVE the lambskin, the feel.. even the look is significantly different than the caviar, which makes for a slightly stiffer look.
do any of you who already own white chanel lambskin have any complaints? does it turn yellow, stain way too easily, etc... i'd appreciate any suggestions any of you may!

I'm seriously considering a black lambskin bag that I have absolutely fallen in love with... but it would be more of an everyday bag for me. This kind of concerns me. Am I crazy for considering an everyday bag in lambskin? Will it get scratched up like crazy? I'm not very rough on my bags, but I don't baby them to death either.

I already have a small classic flap in quilted lambskin that I only use for evening, and the leather is so smooth and soft that it has me a little concerned about how it would hold up with everyday use.

Thoughts? Anyone with experience? The bag that I'm considering does not come in caviar, so that's not an option unfortunately.

I would not use a lambskin everyday, personally. Just taking out my lambskin 2.55 bags on evenings scratches them up, I can't imagine what day to day wear is like.

Also, what's the interior? Is it also leather? Your keys, wallets, coins, etc. will really mark up the interior.
