The interior is jaquard, so that would be suitable for daily use at least. I am completely in love with this bag, but don't know if I can rationalize the $1800ish if I will barely be able to use it. Bad pic below (from eBay) - it's actually black:

It does look real chanel to me but ask the seller for the authenticity card and matching serial sticker inside. Im not sure about the dustbag though because the ones Im used to are all black.

I'm about 99% sure it's a fake, but I thought it would be better to ask someone else since I've had no experience in designer fashion before. The handbag was bought on Ebay and described as an authentic used classic lambskin purse. It only cost about $300, so I was expecting a fake. It is red, with gold hardware. The one thing that makes me seriously suspect it is not an authentic chanel is the texture of the material. The red dye has been slightly worn and almost has a painted feel to it. But then again, I know nothing about lambskin. Can anyone describe to me what a real Chanel should feel like? I'll post a picture once my camera is working.

Can you post the pics from the ebay auction?
A real Chanel lambskin bag should feel really soft and buttery. You'll want to touch it just to feel how yummy the leather is
If you wanna know if it's a fake, look at the stitching and the details. I'm not very good at authenticating Chanel bags by pictures, but post it in the 'authentic or not' thread and I'm sure someone will help you out
If the bag is infact a fake, you should demand a refund from the seller and report him to ebay.

It sounds like you have a fake for the fact that it cost $300.

Thanks for the info. I'd ask for a refund, but it is a very good looking fake. Considering I'm a teenager saving up for college, and the person who bought it for me is too, I'm more than happy to have it. Besides, now I won't worry that much about it getting a scratch.

That's a jumbo classic . I LOVE that bag! It's $1,695 for caviar leather that is shown in the pic.

If the person had the bag redied by Chanel or a shoe maker it would make the bag very ruff. I had Chanel refurbish a bag for me and it came back like that. They told me that happens every time they die the bags. It was a white bag and it got yellow so I asked them to fix it and that is how it came bag. You have to look at the hardware, the serial number and it it has the correct hologram and also the gold leaf stamp Chanel if it is gold then the hardware should be gold and if silver then the hardware should be silver. Hope this helps.

I love that size Nicky is carrying I finally saw it today in person and its so wonderful! Unfortunately I didnt try it on though but I think its too big for my tiny frame. The bag I saw was lambskin and since it was on display it was scratched up and even had grease marks on it

vintage, I soooooo had my heart set on a medium classic flap in white lambskin with gold hardware but my SA said it would be utterly impossible to take care of it. I've seen quite a few white lambskins on display and everyone of them was either scratched or dirty or both . I decided caviar is the only way for me to go.

Do you think its anywhere near as big as the reissue 228? I really would like a big chanel bag like that

Vintage, I tried one on this past Saturday and couldn't decide what color to get. When I went back to the boutique, it was closed . I'm going back next Saturday to get one. As soon as I saw the size, the leather and the silver hardware I fell in love with them. I don't think they're anywhere near as long as the 228 but they probably taller, the 228 is more of an east/west bag. It's definitely a big chanel bag and one things for sure, you'll be able to fit all your essentials in it, and then some, because there is a lot of room inside. I like that they didn't break this bag into two sections like the medium classic - IMHO that wastes precious space as the bag is small inside to begin with.

Balbabe, I hope you get it!! I only saw it in this color the called "beige" but it looked like a dark orangey/brown color to me. I think I would go for a bright color, something really eye-catching.
