what turned me onto it was I saw a youngish girl carrying it on her arm, open and stuffed to the brim. there was something very casually chic about it. and even though it's called the kelly, I wouldn't even compare the two, they're so different. and the quilting makes it so chanel.

wow! i've never seen this style. i really like it...a lot. I was going to get the "original" (the one with the gold chains, quilted, with the 2 Cs at the clasp...as you can tell i dont know the name of it lol.) but I just might get this one! This pricing is a little better...1200 instead of 1595...hmm

I think it depends on your own style & when you plan to use it.

I like the 2.55 more, but I love how the Chanel kelly bag looks with the model.

I think the Chanel 2.55 is more ritzy, very eveningy, while the Chanel Kelly is more something you could wear to work and evenings... that's just the feeling I get personally

Another thing about the 2.55, my aunt has a chanel with the chain handles and she said that during the summer, when everyone wears tanktops etc. it hurts her shoulders bc it digs into her skin. Does it bother anyone else? On another note, I dont really carry much with me...cell (razr, so its rather small), wallet, makeup, ipod, and keys. So I dont carry too much...they look somewhat the same size...the kelly looks a little bigger, but my main concern is that it wouldnt fit over my shoulder...thanks again for all of your input!

I dont think the kelly is meant to fit over your shoulder is it? I prefer the Kelly hand held. I havent had that problem with the 2.55, I think the chain strap is quite comfortable.
Overall, I think the 2.55 is more of an investment bag

Honestly, I don't think you can carry that much in a 2.55 to make your shoulder hurt as it's not a large bag. I could be wrong though.

i personally like the kelly more. you don't see it as often as the 2.55.

LAlights, I don't like the Chanel Kelly at all. If you look at the pic on the first page of this thread, the one where the model is wearing it, you can see just how out of place this bag is on her - it's too old looking.
