Gianfranco Ferré F/W 09.10 Milan

I actually much prefer this to last season. I love that everything is black and the focus is completely on the exquisite tailoring. Those knit pieces in the middle are gorgeous. I love it. There are some hints of Pilati here and on more than one occasion I was reminded of his earlier stuff at YSL but toughened up and translated into this cold, 80's power-zon woman.
I completely agree. Even though I ended up liking a lot of what they did for spring, my first impression of it wasn't love. This however I can totally get into. I love dark, monochrome colors, and when you're doing extremely structural silhouettes, black just enhances the impact.

I get a sort of Blade Runner vibe in places. Some of the strong shouldered skirt suits made me think of Sean Young right away, and considering that I love Blade Runner it's not such a stretch that I'm loving a lot of this. It doesn't all work, but where it does work, it works very, very well. And that very last long black dress with the narrow spiral around the body is stunning.

Heavily influenced by YSL, old and new, which is not necessarily a bad thing...It is focused and nicely interpreted, though, it doesn't struck me as neither convincing nor a new vision. Nevertheless, a very good effort.

it´s beautiful... i feel it like a razor cuts my heart... dark love with these pieces  very architectural, great fabrics and cuts are so strong...

I want it - great collection, like the geometry, like the colours and the fabrics look wonderful

A lot of these pieces are so beautiful. I love the cuts and the detailing in some of the garments.

Oh I LOVE it!!! I love the darkness! Its so much fetish I think. I love nothing more than strong shoulders, they give off so much personality, and personality is oozing in this collection.
The long black dress near the end with the strong shoulder is so Tish Adams. I love the Vampire-vibe I feel from this. And those collars!!! Especially the one on the jumpsuit!

The shoes and the hair and makeup though are pretty ugly.

Another beautiful collection, the cuts are fabulous, and love the dark rich colors, the dark blue velvet gown near the end was my favorite so beautiful:heart:

This is one of the best collections I've seen in ages. The Blade Runner comparison is very apt. I love the mixture of the cold and powerful with more romantic elements.

I LOVE IT TO BITS!!! best collection from milan so far. dark but definitely, EDGY!

i also love the hair and make-up! i find the model's eyebrows chic.

It's not bad

but...

I'm bore 80s

I hope versace and prada ...don't do like it...plz!!

Plz!! no 80s

Let's beyonce rock this trend

I thought that the idea isn't new at all, after so many 80s references over the past few seasons. But I can see that the execution and the craftmanship of each pieces are very well-made.
I preferred aquilano and rimondi's first collection for the house, but this is still pretty good. Could have done better though.

Anyway, a quote from the review by Nicole Phelps over at style.com:
A question mark lingered over Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi's second Gianfranco Ferre show. The label's parent company, IT Holding SpA, declared bankruptcy earlier this week, and it's not entirely certain that this collection will actually go into production. That's a shame because the designers have demonstrated not only an appreciation for Ferré's legacy, but also an ability to finesse the trends.
It's VERY saddening... :(

I love the shape and the structure of the dress but some dresses look a bit too much for me. It looks heavy.
